Oh so you want me to go introduce myself?? I'm confused because I don't see him or what you're talking about anywhere. Sorry.
You just did introduce yourself. As a forum Greeter Lois and I welcome new members and suggest they introduce them self to the other members. Those other two arrived today. @Marci Pankratz.
Hi Marci and welcome I see some confusion but you have introduced yourself and Craig was speaking to the newcomer John Prado @Marci Pankratz
So, Marci, how do you feel about being called a Senior? There are some here that don't like the word at all and then there are those, like myself, that it don't bother at all. The word "Senior" is part of the title of this website, so...…...
Craig, it begins with senior. At what age do you consider one a senior? Here it begins at age 50 but my 53 yr. old son would definitely dispute that definition and rightfully so.
I don't have a problem with that. What gets on my nerves more is when someone says "well it's because you're old." Just because I'm old doesn't mean anyone should just assume I can't do something. I can work circles around today's punks. LOL! Plus there's that nice discount I get. They don't even ask if I'm 55. They see the grey and BAM! I got 5% off something. LOL!!
"Today's punks", interesting words, "punks". Anyway, wife and I are old, that is, when talking to someone who is 45 or younger, but when that person is 85, we are still kids. We don't try to outdo the Millennials or Gen X (Y), cause we know better. We know what we can physical do still and what we'd never try and do again.
@John S Prado and @James Moore Look forward to meeting and hearing from you. Great place to spend time.
I have no desire to outdo anyone. I was just making a point is all. I'm too old to play games with people. I know my limitations and I know how far I can push them before my body says no more.
Saying hello again. I turned 55 in January. A birthday during a pandemic is a sucky one. I've been cooking at the hospital here for 5 yrs now. I was sick in March a year ago. Might have been COVID but at the time I was unable to get tested. I'm vaccinated and masked and distancing as much as I can. Trying to keep from becoming another statistic. This past year has been hard on us. We didn't get any vacations and had to work extra most of the time to cover for coworkers with COVID. Trying to get used to masks and the whole temping ourselves routine. Physically between being sick last year and with these masks 8 hrs a day, it's finally taking it's toll on my health to an extent. I'm trying to get a different position that's more manageable.
