Maduro has been apprehended and taken out of Venezuela

in an early morning maneuver , sent by President Trump, we have captured the drug dealer, Maduro, and his wife, and taken them out of Venezuela. The people are in the streets celebrating that Maduro is gone, and they can now have their country back, and not have it being run by a drug dealer.
He will probably be facing charges for drugs and maybe more, here in the US.

I'm not sure that was a good idea. I know he is a very bad man but this amounts to interfering with another country's affairs. That seldom has a good ending. Like when we toppled dictators in the middle east and worse people took over. We can't police the whole world.

Some people are saying that it's all about the oil. It's complicated.

The people in Venezuela are ecstatic about Maduro being gone, and the opposition leader, and peace prize winner Maria Machado says that they are ready to take their country back.
This is the lady who said that the Nobel Peace Prize that she won should have been given to President Trump, and it looks like she has the support of the Venezuelan people.
I think that any country who has been controlled and ruled by vicious drug lords are always happy when the cruel leaders are gone, and if we do get oil from there, we will work out a deal that helps the Venezuelan people, and not just the drug lords.

We'll see. Trump initially said she was not strong enough to take over (yet). Allegedly, he is in negotiations with the sitting VP. U.S. forces will supposedly control things until a new government is established. I don't know if we will put in a puppet government, we will honor the previous election, or if there will be new elections.

I don't pay much attention to international elections, but wasn't the last Venezuelan election result questionable? Maduro is not just a "drug dealer" but the president of the country, so obviously he has a lot of support. (Of course I don't know what I'm talking about when it comes to Venezuela.)

I'm like @Shirley Martin ; I don't know why we always have to be the world police and I don't know why we are doing this.

I am not necessarily in favor of the operation, but I am amazed how quickly and easily it seems to have been done. I think it was said that we did not have even one casualty. Heck, in training there is often accidental casualties. It shows to me how much our military has improved under Trump and Hegseth. Here is a n article form a military affairs website if anyone is interested.

I forgot to answer the election question. Yeah, it has long been held that the Venezuelan elections have been corrupt. Even the EU questions them. Hugo Chavez commissioned China to write election software that would allow the election returns to be "tweaked" in his favor. Maduro was elected using the same software, and, the really disturbing issue is that the same company who wrote the software for Venezuela supplies the voting machine software in many U.S. states. It is one of the reasons there are claims that the 2020 election was "rigged". The claim is that the results were rigged in 2016 but the officials miscalculated and they thought they were making it a "close" election. Obama and many others assumed that Clinton would win the election since it was "predetermined" and that is why Obama left so many judicial appointments open at the end of his term. He believed Hillary would fill them. He miscalculated and Trump had more votes than the officials counted on. They didn't make the same mistake in 2020 and more people voted in several states than were registered. They were also aided by the chaos of the Covid nonsense.

I agree, and wish we wouldn't do that. It's wrong for any one country to insist that every other country has the same type of government as we do. He wasn't elected, they say; well, I say that Joe Biden wasn't fairly elected in 2020. We have our own problems, and I wish we'd spend more time worrying about our own affairs than meddling in everyone else's.

Ironically. Maduro and Biden colluded to create our illegal immigrant crime problem. Now we have many of Maduro's agents inside the U.S.

Exactly ! And the same corrupt election machines were used for the 2020 election as were used for Maduro to supposedly win the election in Venezuela.
He has criminal charges pending, and will probably be testifying about the corruption in our 2020 election as well.

I agree that we can’t (and should not try to) change the governments of the whole world, but President Trump has been trying to negotiate with Maduro for a whole year now to stop them from sending their gang members, criminals, and illegal drugs into our country. If they had not been affecting what happens in America, we would never have had to arrest him, and could simply have worked things out peacefully.

Maduro refused to take his criminals back when we tried to send them back to their own country, and he refused to stop sending the drug dealers here with their illegal drugs.
A year of trying peaceful negotiation didn’t help; and he was warned many times before President Trump ordered his arrest and bringing Maduro to the US to stand trial for his crimes.
Shooting down the drug runners boats and capturing the illegal sanctioned tanker ships should have given Maduro a clue that Trump was serious !

Maduro duplicated the Mariel Boatlift of 1980 in a more sophisticated manner. Castro emptied his prisons into the U.S. in 1980 along with refugees, and Maduro has done much the same thing. That is why he didn't want the criminals back

Here is the video that is in the news now from General Dan Caine, and he explains exactly how we did the whole operation and didn’t lose any people or any helicopters, either. It is pretty interesting to hear just how we accomplished this.

There actually was a legitimate president for Venezuela. She is in exile at the moment, I think.

We'll see how Trump deals with things now. I think the world would recognize Machado as President of Venezuela. As the video says, most who have looked at the situation realize she won the election, then fled for her life to avoid being killed. Could she hold power if it were handed to her? I think not until the Maduro cartel is destroyed. She would be another victim of assassination just as some in the U.S. have tried (and succeeded) to eliminate their political enemies. But for the graphical image projected, Donald Trump could well have been one of those. Charlie Kirk didn't have the protection.
