Hi All, this looks like a good place to share ideas, adult conversation with a bit of trivia and fun ... off to explore now
You are exactly right, @May Benot ! This IS a great place to share ideas and conversations together. Welcome to the SeniorsOnly Club (sometimes known by its nickname of “SOC”), and we are glad to have you with us.
@May Benot " we are glad to have you with us." She took the words............how does it go? Yvonne was instrumental in coaxing me to join. We had both been embroiled in another seniors forum much more strictly and concisely run: if a member disagreed with some general policy, there was no open discussion: OUT WITH YOU! Anyways (they say it that way in Wisconsin), I grew up with "anyhow", we hope you have a good time here! There are plenty of "arenas" to play in, get to know one-another.....many no doubt wish they had early-on ignored this particular blabbermouth.......but, maybe not. I am one to always discredit myself, unsure, wanting to please, but hurting terribly when accosted over technical things. Brash, I am, and encourage you to tell how you happened to find this place, what interested you, what may WE do to make "sliding-in" most comfortable? I'm a retired Engineer, hard-headed, always seeking talk of a technical nature, but delving in to areas where I have no business being, which are not technical.....politics, child-raising, ethics, contemporary moral issues. Plus, I talk too much. Agree? Frank
Yes well, I'd been a member of a 'senior' forum here in Aus since 2012 but it's been hijacked by trolls and ev'ry topic turns into a slanging match 'tween opposing gangs of posters who seem to post under multiple identities ( different avatars) and Mods do nothing ! I don't hop from forum to forum ... just looking for somewhere pleasant to pass time, not averse to controversial subjects and quite happy to agree to disagree on most topics .. don't want to and don't expect to change others views / opinions but will change my own if the evidence warrants it ... pretty easy going actually
Hi there May and welcome I can identify with your post above, the same happened to me ! This forum is much more civilised and friendly, no arguing for the pleasure or sake of it
Well there's a lot worse for sure , May, ...this one doesn't have a huge active membership , but it's friendly..most of the time...so I hope you settle in with us and enjoy it ...
A most hearty welcome to yet another fair lady and an Aussie to boot ! Please. our humble abode is now yours so do feel free to roam around and knock on a few doors. In my most humble opinion, this discussion group is one of the finest bunch of people a person could possibly associate with (sans myself) so have fun, enjoy yourself and feel free to ask questions. Again, Welcome to your new home.......................
Hi, @May Benot , Welcome. I love the play of words in your user name. I think I'll rejoin as May Beso.
Welcome to the forum. I have been busy the past few days and missed your post yesterday. It's good to have you here.
