I mean it. I looked her up. Most people think of her as some kind of voodoo nut but she was a fascinating person. For instance, did you know that she owned slaves? She was married (?) (her second marriage) to French royalty.
No I didn't know that, thanks. And I don't think I have any french in my dna at all, possible I suppose but mostly Scandanavian and Irish. Not surprised slaves were involved even slaves owned slaves throughout history.Still do today in parts of Africa. Christian charities are there now buying them back from their black masters, lots of bad in this world but thank goodness there is also some good too. I guess we humans are all just lazy and want others to do our work for us.
Shirley look they even wrote a song about her. I'm not into voodoo or occult though I am a beleiver in God only,
@Marie Mallery I just looked her up on the web. Fascinating reading. Thanks for that. ps: Did you have your name changed?
Yeh, well, let's not start a Crazy Contest, OK? I chose the name of a dystopian sci fi author whose work I really enjoyed. I should have at least chosen someone with the same first name...I still get a little confused. And I still enjoyed reading about Mrs. Laveau. The stories of folks who were here early in our history are fascinating. Such a hodgepodge of life views and ways of being.
