It's hard to hear people speaking through a mask and you can't read their lips.

My quick fix is the Williams Pocket Talker 2.0. Not a "hearing aid" but an amplifier that works well for me with and without mask. Gives up to over 60 dB of boost. My multi K dollar hearing aids just didn't hack it and went to the garbage. The Pocket talker claims to be HiFi but I set it to mono mode for max amplification. Birds and chipmunks, cars, trucks, family come though AOK. Some medical clinics make them available to hearing impaired patients with throw away ear buds. Guess the "hearing aid" business is in the big Rip like much of big medicine.

Yeah, that's good new but I still keep a mask handy, if for no other reason, to irritate so,me people.
