Perhaps and also Mother's day... Nevertheless, we were good while she was away.. We held the fort pretty well..
I'm back but I'm having company for supper tonight so I don't have time to play. We're having fresh fish. And, boy, do I have a doozie of a "The one that got away" story for y'all. I'll tell y'all all about it tomorrow.
By the way..... today id May 10th... I went to Espanola today and on the way home, I ran into a SNOW STORM... You are reading this right.....….. A SNOW STORM on the 10th of May... It didn't last long and as the snow hit the road, it melted, but still, SNOW...
Well,, west of us is the State of Colorado and they too are having snow.. had snow yesterday too.. all depends where you live. and the farther north you go it most likely snowing there too Steve.. but not to worry, soon you will be complaining about the heat!!
Here is my newest fishing story. We were fishing from a pier on the Roanoke River. It flows from Lake Gaston. The water flow is used to generate electricity by hydroelectric generators. They release water when the area gets heavy rains to prevent flooding. The pier is built about 10-12 feet above the water so that it isn't under water when they open the floodgates. Roanoke River has big catfish. They are good eatin' but the speckled ones are best. I hung a nice one Sunday. I finally got him to the top of the water but he was so heavy that I couldn't reel him up. He broke my line and got away. I thought he broke the tip off my rod but I checked it yesterday and the eyelet on the end was bent, that's all. If we had had a drop net, I could have saved him. I am now looking for a drop net.
Hey @Shirley Martin I posted a photo of that $1 coin on the previous page ..the photo looks more hexagon shape then round ,to the naked eye it like half and half to me
Kate, that's a Susan B. Anthony gold dollar. It's worth $1.00 in American. The government thought it would be a good idea to make dollar coins instead of bills. They were so heavy that people didn't want to carry them in their pockets. Most of them went into coin collecting books. I haven't seen one in years. Hang onto it. It might be worth a lot of money to your great, great, great grandchildren.
I dont know where I even got it …I haven’t been to the US yet , and our government announced I last nights budget no international travel allowed till at least this time next year ….who would want to travel anyway
I'm still hoping that you and Ron can come visit us eventually, Kate. Bring it with you and you can spend it. There's no telling how long it has been in Aussieland. It might have been there for years.
Well as of tomorrow, the forecast is calling for some real spring weather with the high being 18c and from there it will only get warmer with loads of sun... finally spring has sprung... now I can get outside and do some work.. My shoulder isn't any better but I still have to do what needs to be done... Besides if I do some work, it will take my mind off the shoulder problem...…… Maybe... If it gets too bad, I won't be crazy and keep it up but I will stop..
