Food Watch, What Are We Really Eating?

Since the early 80s I've been interested in organic gardening and food safety after being a member of the website 'Organic Gardening', haven't visited it in years since I stopped the gardening after my st4roke that left me with bad eyesite plus other things going on.

Anyway here is a video I found about plastics in our food, not on it but in it too.
Not trying to scare anyone just be aware that 'organic' doesn't always mean safe.

RFK wonders how President Trump is still alive, with his eating habits!

Actually, if you read the whole information, what Secretary Kennedy says is that it mostly only appears that President Trump is not eating healthy foods. He went on to say that the president eats very healthy at the White House and also at home at Mar-a-Lago, but when he is traveling, he believes that ordering from a place like McDonalds is safer than going into a restaurant where people might know it was for the president and do something to his food.
The press only shows us pictures of the president eating hamburgers and drinking Diet Coke, so it makes it look like he doesn’t care about eating healthy.

I figured he ate better than they tell us, nothing wrong with some fun food now and then long as the main diet is healthy.
Of course, that oldest living WW11 vet eats what I'd consider a bad diet.
He fied at 112 years old.

I'm certain that my cells are at least 43% pure microplastics, since I drink bottled water almost exclusively. It's just a habit I have, kind of like smoking.
We smokers have to be extra careful. Don't need plastics joining forces with the smoke.
Last time we tried to quit smoking we were building our bar, both had hammers on each end, he said thats wrong, I said no its not, next thing you know we were banging the hammers on the bar.
We lit up.

Since my reproductive days are long gone, I don't worry about a baby being born with plastic parts so I throw caution to the wind with Ozarka.

I just can't bring myself to be afraid all the time. I didn't fear Covid, I don't fear microplastics as it is impossible to avoid them, and even the nasty oil that everyone fears is not something that makes me quake. I use olive oil and coconut oil when practical, but frying in olive, at least the EVOO is a big waste of money. If you can get light olive oil, that is okay. Some people use avocado oil, but one source I read said that avocado oil actually FORMS microplastics when it is heated, so that is kinda out too. I think that a lot of the solvents used to extract oil are probably driven off when heated in a similar way that alcohol used in cooking evaporates. I don't know that, as I haven't looked up the solvents and checked the boiling points. I figure I am going to die of something sometime, and I don't want to live in fear.

Don I somewhat agree, although no sense in rushing it, I'm already being bad enough.
Anyway you do a lot of gardening so your not that exposed.

Also, your right why worry about some plastic in my food, it just makes me smoke more.

I cook, bake, garden to the extend of our yard. We eat well and plenty. We drink a lot of wine and coffee. We share. There is a limit to what I can worry about. No plastic here but the lids to glass ware and that because I like the look and feel of it. Something is going to get me no matter what.

We will never die. We are too full of preservatives. :ROFLMAO:

Food watch? I have had a pineapple on my counter for at least a week now. I just smelled pineapple and accused my daughter of drinking my pineapple weed tea. But no. The fruit is ready to cut up.
Now, I have butchered a number of pineapples in my time. I wanted to fix it right so I went to youtube. There are a hundred ways to skin a pineapple.
Wellllll, I picked one and it worked.
There are a bazillion pineapples in stores around here. Wonder why such a bumper crop.
