Please share your old age eyewear experiences, whether good, bad, or ugly. Before I share my recent eyewear experience, I took the liberty of a slight modification to the Lovin Spoonful's tune to give us old age insight and in the proper frame of mind.
[Chorus]
Four eyes, what you gonna do now?
Four eyes, and how much do you see now?
How many fingers? Ha, ha, ha
[Verse 1]
When y'all that see through plastic
Wearing pants with waist of elastic
So the young folks all think you're icky
But you don't know because you can't hear
Then the hinges, like your joints, all get rusted
And the seventh pair gets busted
So you graduate to fashion frames
And that makes you look severe
[Chorus]
Four eyes, what you gonna do now?
Four eyes, and how much do you see now?
How many fingers? Ha, ha, ha
[Verse 2]
When you're so blind and your eyes so wonky
You can't even, in the mirror, see your donkey
You can't dig just where your at, man
Without windows on your eyes
And the frames were a bad decision
Even though fitted with precision
But they magnify your eye
And the price tag makes you cry
Now, my recent experience.
Being the eccentric, some times vain, thing I am, although I bought a new pair of glasses last fall with everything premium, and I opted for all the addons and chose premium wide range progressive lens, the best available, and of course chose the most expensive fashion frames made by Versace in Italy. I fell in love with the clear frames and rectangle shape.
While waiting for recent glaucoma testing, I was checking out all the Versace frames, now 30% off. Well, I'll be a lemurs aunt, if I didn't fall in love with a pair with clear frames and real gold plated lattice on the sides that had the shape that reminded me of my mothers. I bought them and the premium package. Well they arrived today and I was so excited, I even wore brow color and mascara. I couldn't wait to see my eyes with these retro fashion, but clear, frames. I donned them like I was royalty and immediately the room was in double .
I knew immediately that the technician, screwed the pooch, so to speak. With all three guys on the case, including the boss, they finally found the problem. One lens had the prism on the bottom instead of the top. Since they now make them using laser 3D printers, they placed the blame on the new gal that entered the info in the computer. I know it was the technician that took my orders fault, since I noticed his eyes, more than once, ogling the young gals butt as she was putting up new frames on the racks.
Any hoo, I now, with excitement waning, wait two weeks while they remake one lens.
