Have any of my fellow Boomers come across this? Happening more and more. I am making a random search for something or other on either Google or Bing and when I get to the page I am being confronted with the hardest of hard core porn images. Surely these images which I find disgusting.. and I am no prude..belong in a porn only site. I contacted Bing. No reply. I am fine with nudity but hard core porn leaves me cold. Anyone agree.
I rarely use Google but have not come across it on Bing. Since you're talking about images, may I assume you're doing an image search? I think the family-friendly filter is the default in both Google and Bing image, so you shouldn't be coming across that.
Seems I had to simply access my settings and apply SAFESEARCH to eradicate inappropriate material. This came up when I tried searching inappropriate material. Your current Bing SafeSearch setting filters out results that might return adult content. I have now confirmed it by returning to the original site. Not even nudity.
I only had that happen once, but, unfortunately I was on a friends computer when it happened. I wanted to look at something dealing with the White House and put "White House" in Search. Believe it or not, a porn site came up! I was totally stunned and got out of the site instantly. Thing is, my friend had her computer set to see previous sites she'd been to in Search. She was searching for something that had the word "white" as the first word. Well, she seen "White House", was curious about it and clicked on it. The porn site came up. Since I was the only other person that used her computer, she instantly asked me about this. I told her that I was curious about something dealing with the White House and typed "White House" in Search and the porn site came up. Even though I was quite embarrassed when she brought up the site, she totally understood what happened. Apparently, I should have typed in "The White House".
I was looking for gospel music lyrics a few years ago and the search engine (Google) sent me to a site which yes, did have gospel music lyrics but had pop ups advertising porn.
