The new USPS tracking, since Biden took office. " In transit, arriving late. Your package will arrive later than expected, but is still on it's way. It is currently in transit to the next location." No, this is not a joke. My package was supposed to be here yesterday. When I tracked it, that is the tracking message. Nothing about where the package is located, or when the package will arrive. First time I have ever got a tracking message like this.
I had a package last month that was due on a certain date. 10 days later Amazon credited my account and sent a new one. The the first shipment showed up at the door. In the case of the first shipment the status just kept saying on way to next location.
As much as I'd like to blame Biden for the USPS, that fiasco has been going on for decades. Welcome to the forum, Jim.
Deliveries from Amazon have bettered, but deliveries from the VA have at least doubled in transit time. As @Beth Gallagher said, this has been a problem for decades, but the VA delivery problem has worsened since Biden.
This is the first time I have ever had tracking that just showed when the package left it's origin, but no locations since, and now no idea of when it will arrive.
I had a package that USPS confirmed for delivery last Thursday. Thursday morning's Informed Delivery Digest confirmed it was out for delivery. It did not show up. Thursday evening I got an email stating it was "In Transit Arriving Late." Friday I got an email stating it was "In Transit Arriving Late." Saturday I got an email stating it was in Houston. Sunday I got an email stating it was in Atlanta. Monday I got an email saying it would be delivered today. This morning I got an email it would be delivered today, although it did not show up in today's I.D. Digest. This afternoon I got an email stating "We could not access your delivery location." My "delivery location" is one of those huge rural mailboxes I installed so the mailman would not have to schlep down my 1/2 mile long right-of-way to drop off packages. This delivery is a single bottle of supplements in an envelope. I've had much larger packages shoved into that box...and the rest of my mail showed up today. We shall see what tomorrow brings. This type of goat rodeo is a rarity.
When I ordered those galvanized raised garden kits, the delivery info said "left in mailbox." Since our mailbox is in a neighborhood "pod" it is about 6"x6"x12" deep. So no, it was not "left in mailbox." (Though the moron does cram stuff in there so that we need the jaws of life to get our mail some days.)
I have very little trouble with the USPS here. Often UPS and FedEx use the post office to deliver for them.
What do you do when the packages are too large for the pod or mailbox? Do you have to go to a central location to pick up the package?
