This is definitely not a job, and barely works under the income definition, but it is a way to earn some gift cards and pass the time. I have been doing surveys for a lot of years now, and most of the time, it takes a while to get enough points to even be worth cashing in for an Amazon gift card, but some of them do pay much better than others.
The ones that are a clinical trial for something usually are pretty interesting to do. Last spring, I had one that was testing dog food that helps calm dogs down. Poodle got to eat his special food for about 2 months, and he liked it, but I am not sure if he was actually calmer or not. He is mostly calm anyway, except when we go somewhere and then get back home, and he is jumping up and down because he is glad we came back home.
But I had a lot of dog food left after the end of the trial, and we are on the last bag of it right now, so he is still enjoying it, plus I got a $450 Amazon gift card, and used it towards buying a new iPad.
