    PRCA Rodeo

@Cody Fousnough Most ranchers, while working, wear lace up boots like loggers and if irrigating, high slip-on waterproof like miners. Maybe traditional, stereotypical, cowboy boots to town, rodeo, church, or meetings. I never wore my heeled, sharper toed, high shank "cowboy" boots on the ranch...

    What Are You Doing Today?

Results at Oncologist have me going in next week for a 12 point biopsy. While not my idea of a fun morning, the actual biopsy takes about two minutes. If biopsy has any indication of cancer, I can choose surgery or radiation. I already chose surgery. Walk ended up being 6 miles due to doctor...

    What Are You Doing Today?

Good morning slackers! Well, surprise, surprise, old Faye knows what she will be doing today and she ain't all that happy about any of it. First thing this morning, after exercises and breakfast, I started in reviewing all I have to do to get my new credit card number on all the accounts with...

    What Are You Doing Today?

I went to the zip bottom sheet years ago and never regretted paying the price. Folds like a top sheet and easier to put on.

    What Are You Doing Today?

No plans today other than my walk. I did all the yard work yesterday plus one load of laundry. OK, today I have two loads left to do. Small loads, but laundry none the less. Was told that there was a ranch grass fire about quarter mile above me yesterday. I didn't notice because of the wind...

    "Tony" Thought Journal 3.0

Please say a big NO to Gabapentin! They had me take it years ago and I ended up having a serious panic attack and ended up in the ER. There are several similar drugs that they tried on me and all of them had some bad effect worse than dealing with the nerve problem. Don't be fooled by the term...

Joe's Trading Post Dog He appeared out of nowhere one morning. My grandmother was hanging laundry on the line when he made his debut. She had a dryer but chose not to use it, even in the winter unless time was of the essence. She was part American Indian blood and kept with the old ways over...

    What Are You Doing Today?

Big yard day today, starting in 2 hours. Very warm out there with overcast high ceiling forest and range fire smoke. Lower air still good quality. I really need to edge as grass around my fences is getting high. I have to wear long pants and long sleeves when edging, because something always...

    PRCA Rodeo

I always wore the more rounded toe cowboy boots, but insisted on a high "cowboy" heel and high shaft. That heel is handy riding on the ranch and also for standing roping in the corrals. You can dig it in for a solid stance. It is also nice in the stirrups, especially for gallop. The high shaft...

    What Are You Doing Today?

I did my grocery store walk, this morning, but since I posted about it in a new thread, titled Con Artist, I will spare you the details here. Nothing planned today other than watching some TV and trying to find something interesting on the internet. Tomorrow is a big lawn day and my morning...

Con Artists, Scammers, Beggars, and Thieves

I thought I had seen every con out there, but this morning, walking back with my groceries, a guy in an nice new expensive looking car, pulled up, rolled down riders side window, and said, "excuse me maam," can you help me? He continued with that he was headed to an important meeting in Spokane...

Look Who The Cat Drug In

Joe's Last Rodeo I remember summer 1970. His dog, Dog, had died that spring and old Joe decided to sell off all his cattle and just keep his 22-year-old horse. Joe had a small hogan that he lived in and his Trading Post was in another hogan by the two-lane highway. He made what little money he...

    PRCA Rodeo

The rules also specify "cowboy boots." I don't consider the low heeled lace up roper boots as cowboy boots, but the PRCA does, To me, if it isn't a slip on with a substantial heel, at least 1 1/2," and a shaft half way up the calf, then it ain't no cowboy boot. Short booties and Wellington boots...

    Cataract Surgery

Sounds like more than cataracts. I didn't realize, nor did my ophthalmologist, that I had glaucoma in that eye. The cataracts were so bad, they couldn't see in the eye well enough to see the disintegrating nerve. How are your eye pressures?

    Dude Wipes

I submit that the Sears and Roebuck catalog was the original "dude wipe." You can bet your sweet biff, women took out a softer material when the privy was boss. :sneaky:

    PRCA Rodeo

I will respectfully disagree! As I explained, Pro bull riding is rodeo, but not PRCA rodeo or any rodeo that requires multiple events. The Pendleton roundup has 11 events and the Indian Relay Horse Races are considered rodeo. They are not PRCA rodeo, but rodeo none the less. We have single event...
