The Best Thing That Happened To Me Today

I had a breakthrough at the gym this morning. I've been nursing along for the last three weeks on the treadmill with an irritating shin split, limiting my time. Well, today, at about the 20 minute mark, it just... went away. I can't explain it, wasn't expecting it. The pain was just gone...

Here's one I got from my Gram's house after she passed. Not the actual one, but a photo of the same thing .

What items do you carry on your person most of the time? Part 2

Pocketknife, wallet and watch. On a side note, my whole life, I was never a watch wearer. Then, maybe 30 years ago, out of the blue, the Missus got me a watch for Christmas. I was doubtful, because I'd never given any thought to wearing one. Within a week, I was obsessive about it. LOL...

    What's for supper?

Same as yesterday. A salad with chicken chunks sprinkled in, A banana and an orange. Just to clarify, I work 6pm to 6am, and these are the lunches I usually pack. On my days off, I eat whatever the Missus makes. Then I do the dishes. She does 100% of the cooking in our home, so it's only...

    Borrow Until You Die?

I got all my credit cards paid off maybe 20 years ago, and haven't had one since. Other than my monthly expenses, I have no debt. Also, I consciously decided a few years ago that, when I die, I will make it as easy as possible for my children. It may sound maudlin, but I've been getting rid...

    Gardening

This is true. I just dig the holes. I remember, years ago, the Missus had this low, sprawling, prickly shrub of some sort, and she decided she wanted to move it. I spent a couple of hours digging that thing up, the roots were nearly twice as wide and deep as the plant itself. And the worst...

What do YOU want this forum to be?

Well, I haven't been here long at all, but it seems pretty good to me. I especially like the fact that politics has its own place. It's the most divisive topic in the country today. I can get to know people and their personalities by their comments outside of politics. That's why I don't go...

    Gardening

I have to give all you folks credit. It takes dedication to care for plants and flowers and such. My wife has all that stuff. The only thing I know about gardening is carrying bags of dirt and stuff from her car to the patio.

    What Are You Doing Today?

I have the same problem, only with beetroot juice. I grocery shop at ShopRite, and they have a certain brand I like, but it's sometimes weeks at a time when they don't have it in stock, so I'm forced to buy a different brand that taste like, well, beets. Ugh.

    Shopping--What did you buy?

I got down to half a tank of gas, so I figured I'd fill up before it hits $4 a gallon. $33 for 1/2 a tank. OOF!
