I like the very old saying I heard for the first time prob 60 years ago ……
A person who’s never made a mistake ~ has never made anything

No.Has anyone ever known Don Alaska to be absent from the Forum this long?
Hopefully nothing serious has happened, maybe this time he'll respond.I keep hoping every time I check my email, but have not had an answer back from Don Alaska. I will send another email, but I really think something has happened.
He was, back on the old forum, when an earthquake took out his areas internet.Has anyone ever known Don Alaska to be absent from the Forum this long?
Does anyone know how old Don is?
It is a shame we have no real way of contacting him.![]()
I thought he said he was 81 or 82. I can't say that for sure but it seems that I read somewhere that he mentioned being around that age. ??Does anyone know how old Don is?
well I meant more than an email, I guess. A contact person. We do have ways to contact him. It's that he isn't responding that is the scary part.
I too have done an obituary hunt and came up negative. Which is a good thing. I've checked funeral parlors which listed about 40 to 50 people in that area for the last month that have passed thank God he wasn't on the list. I was thinking of calling the local hospitals but I'm not sure they would give patient information out, plus I'm not sure Don would want us prying in his business. We do have ways to contact him. It's that he isn't responding that is the scary part.
We whisper trash now you can't hear us because we hit the keyboard with a light touch.Haha@Tony Page - I have two people on here who have my email address, and I have note in my PW manager who to contact in event, of death. This way no one on here has to guess what happened. Besides then all yal'll can talk trash about me without fear![]()
Oh dear, you forget that us with Texas roots will say great things about you after you die and all the trash talking will be to your alive and well face.@Tony Page - I have two people on here who have my email address, and I have note in my PW manager who to contact in event, of death. This way no one on here has to guess what happened. Besides then all yal'll can talk trash about me without fear![]()
I agree maybe he just wants to be left alone for a while. I just hope it's not something that is bothering him from SOC.I think he might be 83 and I know he has a tech class ham license, so I will have an active ham here put out a call for a ham in his area on 20 meters. Then they can put out a call on the areas 144 and 880 repeaters. I am not sure he has been active on radio for years, but worth a try. I don't have any equipment anymore or I would put out a call for a ham in his area, on the High Noon Net.
The thing is, he may just want to disappear for awhile, so while it seems unlike Don to do that, I don't want to overstep on his privacy. I use to know an old ham in his area that would be glad to go out to his place and make a welfare check, but I am hesitant to do that.
