I have a Humana plan that charged a co-pay for my eye doc visit and denied coverage for progressive lenses. They don't pay for my MD either because she doesn't take insurance of any kind, but her rates are low enough that I'd rather pay out of pocket than be forced to go to an assembly line in-network wonk that doesn't listen.

We have an Aetna Advantage plan. Yes, it has co-pays but I had met the annual OOP by the end of February this year, so since then I have paid zip.

We both have Medicare A/B plus a Humana Drug Plan. We pay monthly for Medicare B, along with a deductible. Once the deductible is paid, Medicare B pretty much pays for anything done. We also pay monthly for Humana Drug Plan, but I get all of my prescriptions from the VA Medical. Currently, the VA isn't charging us a co-pay for any of my prescriptions. Thank God!

Medicare B paid for most of my rotator cuff surgeries (each shoulder). I didn't use the VA for those, nor did I use the VA for my cataract surgeries. Again, Medicare B paid for the surgery in each eye, but with a discount card, we got my eyedrops for a descent amount of money. We paid for my new lens, that were put into each eye.

So, what benefit do you get from the Humana drug plan, @Cody Fousnaugh ? If you are not getting any prescriptions through Humana, and Medicare part B pays for everything else, I am not understanding why you want the Humana plan.

I have an Advantage plan and there are co-pays, but they aren't much; except for the dental. The plan only pays about half of that.

I shouldn't have said that our Medicare B pays for everything. Medicare B doesn't pay for any prescriptions and that is why we have Humana Drug Plan. Then again, Humana doesn't pay much either for prescriptions. We found that out very fast when it came to my before and cataract surgery on each eye. Luckily, the surgeon's office gave us a discount card to cover most of the cost for the most expensive eyedrops I had to use.

My wife get her monthly Metformin, prescription for Diabetic II, discount from Humana. All of my meds come from the VA.

We bought Discount Cards for dental, hearing and vision early last year, but found out they hardly pay anything towards the cost of anything. We, since we are both Diabetic II, get a free eye exam yearly, thru Medicare B, but they don't pay anything towards glasses or just lenses.

There seems to be a LOT of Seniors out there that can't afford much in the way of medical care, even if they do have Medicare A/B. And, if they financially can't afford the monthly premium and/or deductible of Medicare B, they don't get healthcare coverage.

When I fell out of our shower in August 2019, after arriving here, the following March or April, we got a bill for almost $1,000. Heck, while registering at the ER, they asked for, and we gave them, all of our Medicare A/B and Humana info and they still billed us. Finally got that straightened out and we didn't pay a penny for the ER or follow-up.

I have a Humana Medicare Advantage Plan, and it replaces the Medicare Part B. I get $100 each month for an OTC allowance, plus I get a $10 Amazon gift card each month just for logging my daily steps through Humana. The OTC allowance is from an online Humana catalog, and I just order what i want every month. I get almost all of my vitamins through the OTC program.
I have both optical and dental coverage , and my heart medications do not cost me anything.

You are incorrect, @Cody Fousnaugh , about seniors that can’t afford the part B not having any coverage at all.
My annual income is well under $10,000 annually, and I qualify for the Humana SNP Advantage plan, as do any other seniors who are low income. This plan covers the Medicare part B premium, and the Advantage plan is one that does not cost. All of my doctor visits, hospital procedures, and medications are covered with this plan.
I am SO thankful to have it !

Darn, I forgot, Lon is talking about the supplement here. I have Florida Blue, that will pay for my admission into a hospital and my wife has a similar supplement, but hers is a Colorado one.

Yvonne, we didn't get the Advantage Plan, because a former employee of Medicare told us not to.

As far as there being Seniors that can't afford medical insurance, I still believe there is. But, then again, it's either they can't afford the medical insurance or they just don't want to get the surgeries they need (for personal reasons).

From watching a YouTube video of a hip replacement, I almost didn't have it done. Then decided it would be better if I did go thru with it and I was right........much better than limping around due to very little cartilage in the hip.

As long as you have a medicare plan that is working for you, that is what is important, @Cody Fousnaugh . Some people (like me) like having an Advantage Plan, and other people (like you) prefer having the straight medicare; so I think that it is just one of those decisions of whatever works best for each person.
We have about $2500 dental annually, plus it covers eye exam and new glasses each year, as part of the plan, so we do not pay anything extra for that.
Humana also pays for my Silver Sneakers membership, which means that it is free for me to use the fitness center every day.
The benefits that I have with my Advantage plan are important ones to me, but I can see that they might not be important for everyone, and I am glad that you have a plan that meets your needs, Cody.

I have a Plan F policy through Blue Cross. I believe it is being phased out starting this year, in that no new policies are being issued. I intend to keep it until I'm the last living person on the plan, unless the premiums become absolutely ridiculous, or they start reducing the coverage.

We use Care n Care advantage plan and for the last 4 years has been great. I do pay a co pay of $35 for doctor- $45 for specialist. With all my hospital doings, Doppler's, sonograms etc.. have paid Nothing ! However the dental plan that comes with this plan is useless. The eye benefit is good.
