If your home was on fire what are four things you hope to get out with ?
Provided your spouse is able to get out on their on-only list things you can not survive without.
phone - hearing aids - Radar - shoes

Two of them would be cats, and a third might be a cat cage because I would never be able to hold onto both of them at the same time. The fourth would be a container of stuff that it's safer not to talk about in a public place.

No, I'm not talking about the body in the crawlspace. I'd leave that where it is.

At this stage in my life, I think the main thing would be the cat. But she would run and hide in all the excitement, and I'd never find her or catch her. I've thought about that actually.

And maybe a memory stick that has a backup of everything on my pc, because I've stored digital copies of pictures of a lot of things on it. I need to get rid of a lot of stuff anyway and I keep putting it off.

Assuming I'm wearing my glasses at the time.

I'd probably just grab my purse and cellphone. All our important "stuff" is in a fireproof safe so hopefully it will survive the fire.

I might be tempted to just let it all burn. It might be the freest moment of my adult life.

from what I have read that is the feeling many have after a disaster. The freedom of having nothing and being able to start over.

Have you ever had a computer go down and been without for an extended period of time?

    Yet we return...
