Wow. I didn't watch this live on TV because I have zero interest in celebrities and their awards. But I must say, this is amazing... and Ricky is spot ON. The faces of the "Hollywood Elite" in this clip are priceless.

"If you do win an award tonight, don't use it as a platform to make a political speech, right? You're in no position to lecture the public about anything," he added. "You know nothing about the real world. Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg."

Superb!! He doesn't hold back and always says what the majority are thinking.!!

Some of the celebrities in the audience looked distinctly uncomfortable.

BTW I don't know if it's just here but your link says the video is unavailable... however I already saw it in the news

The youtube clip seems to be working for me, Holly. Sorry about that.

Gervais is one of my absolute favorites, and the facial expressions on some of the "celebrities" are absolutely hilarious. Tom Hanks looks like he's got bad gas pains. The truth hurts, Hollywood!!

We watch almost all of the Hollywood Awards shows. Being that my wife spent a little time in Hollywood, working as an Extra in movies and that we watch quite a few movies (but not the really, really old ones), we do enjoy the awards shows. We know a lot of the actors/actresses. What we don't like is the language that some use, like Joaquin Phoenix did last night and those that use the Awards platform to talk about something totally different than the award they are getting.

We definitely aren't into, or like, the GLBTQ thing or those that support them. It was great seeing Ellen receive the Carol Burnett Award, but seeing her give a kiss to her wife was plainly gross to us. As far as Elton John goes, well. But, life goes on.

He said this would be his last time. If it wasn't before, it will be now. :D

Gervais tweets on tonight's Oscars are still on point. :D:D

“I can’t wait to hear all your inspirational speeches about equality, and it’s great that the 3 hours you’re here tonight is the only time your badly paid migrant house staff will get some time off to sleep this week”— Ricky Gervais (@rickygervais)

    America!
Binge-watch #AfterLife on @Netflix tonight. It’s about a man who realises that humanity is a disgusting, narcissistic plague, and so becomes angry & depressed and loses the will to live. Or watch The Oscars instead and actually experience those feelings first hand. — Ricky Gervais (@rickygervais) February 9, 2020
