    Gallivant ...is the only one we use here, and I don't think the young use it at all... only us oldies.. :D

    Not only is the word nearly gone, the very act of asking a lady’s father for permission to court his daughter is wayyyyy gone.

    Overusing "Sorry".

    In stores, there are more shoppers these days who are disgustingly over-mannerly, saying "Sorry, Sir" to me if they should happen to step in front of me while looking for something in the aisles.

    I straighten them out immediately, by saying: "You've done nothing wrong...there's no need for "Sorry", to which they'll usually reply with a weak smile "Sorry, Sir".

    Maybe they feel that if they didn't act so mannerly, they might arouse a defensive reaction in me, which might trigger a Terrorist response, because I'm tall, and usually wear a theatening "look" like Lee Van Cleef.

    I don't know...
