@Pat Baker, you should do this to that one car before you dig it out.
Great shot Shirley, and fab Ice photos...did you take them using Macro?
Shirley don't you just love it when the sun shines on the ice? the sky pics of the ice were just beautiful..
Pat where do you live? .all that snow! wow!!
Can I be a spoilsport and post a Summer photo This is right on the edge of the city Adelaide took it 5 minutes ago from motel balcony ,it's on the corner of South Tce and Anzac highway and Goodwood road ( you can't see south Tce) the city is a mile square ,bounded by south, west, north and east tce's )
Now do all you poor freezing members feel warmer
Doesn't look that difficult either.
I'm not freezing in California but enjoyed the pic. That road looks confusing to me...what happens in that middle area??
@Chrissy that's the south bound lane ,remember we drive on the left hand side of the road here in Australia. The middle area is called Anzac highway ,which takes you down to the beachside suburb of Glenelg
I will take a photo of the city centre when the sun's in the correct spot ( Adelaide is the Capitol city of South Australia ) the city centre is right behind the motel
I forgot about that!
Yes, Holly. My camera has a macro setting and I use it to take close up pictures. I like to see reflections in raindrops and ice. The reflections in droplets are always upside down.
The guy who paints the lines on the road, should get a medal!
Usually during December and January we get a lot of sun...albeit cold..here in the South East of England, but this year it's been almost constant rain, and on the few days when we've had a couple of hours sunshine, I've been working, but yesterday was my day off, and we had a little window of sunshine, about 3 hours , so I took my chance to take some pictures of my immediate local surroundings to show you all what it's usually like in winter....
This is a house close by.....at the end of the lane...

This is the river that meanders through my neighbours' garden and farm....
This made me laugh...this little long barn next to the tiny village pharmacy has just been newly thatched but they've only got as far as dropping the first layer on , and nothing else has been done yet, no binding, tying or trimming.... so it looks like a huge choir doormat has just dropped on it from the sky...
Breath taking pictures, Holly! Love all of them.
We are amongst the select few Kate
and here's a list of all the countries who drive on the left...
Isle of Man
Here's a quote from wiklpedia ....of what Paul Hogan said in the Aussie movie Crocidlile Dundee when he arrived in New York
No wonder you have so many accidents around here, the steering wheels on the wrong side of the car!
Beautifull photos @Holly I luv seeing nice green areas ,We live in the driest state in Australia so we don't have any green areas like that ...We need to go to more tropical areas such as Queensland for that Sydney also gets lots of rain
A couple of days ago we had sun for the first time in a week of rain, .. so we went to the village pub to have some food late afternoon...not surprisingly the pub garden was empty because it was sooo cold and everyone was indoors... but we're made of sterner stuff, and stayed out for an hour, and I took some photos of the pub garden which overlooks the paddocks...and also some photos of one of the ancient village church ...
The view over the paddocks..
