I wasn’t sure where I should post this . Now this will proberly make you smile and say to yourself “what a silly woman “ for posting something as trivial as that The reason for my post is ..I was getting ready to go out to our normal Saturday night dance and as usual I tried to put my pierced earrings in , and as usual I couldn’t get them lined up to get them in .... standing up ...I have to,sit down to get them in ..crazy I know but why can’t I get them in while standing I had them pierced about 30 years ago and even though I got then done at a so called qualified piercer they are not good , they are on an odd angle ..,but I should be able to,get them in standing or sitting
I seldom wear earrings anymore, and my ears have closed up enough that it is sometimes difficult to put on the earring when I do want to wear a pair of them. What I do is put a tiny bit of hand lotion or face cream on my finger and dab it on the earring post and on my ear lobe. I still have to wiggle the earring around to get it to fit; but it slips in much easier when I use the lotion first. Anything slippery would work.
Reminds me of my Sister wanting me to put her earrings in for her She hadn't worn them for months - I was so scared I flinched each time I tried - I gave up
When I was in high school, I had one ear pierced. That night, the thing that you have to leave in place until it heals was uncomfortable, and it annoyed me while I was trying to sleep, so I took it out and never put anything else in there. It didn't take long for the hole to close.
This is funny to me. Sometimes I find myself changing my footing while I'm trying to put my earrings in. I may have created a new dance step in the process.
I find I have to sit down to do most things these days @Kate Ellery, I am sure if I wore earrings I would never be able to find the hole let alone put them in...
@Von Jones This seems akin to another type of gesture I have always wondered about: why do folks when performing certain things like rubbing their eyes gape their mouths wide open? Frank
@Frank Sanoica I remember when I had my cataracts done and I had to put drops in my eyes for three weeks after ..Hubs would say to me for goodness sake ....open your eyes and close your mouth
