No, I don’t think so ! According to this report (as well as a page full of other reports) over half of the congressmen are millionaires. If a millionaire can’t afford an apartment, then neither could anyone else live in Washington, DC. Not only that, I think that @Ken Anderson brought this up in another thread, but it makes more sense for Congress to stay in their own states most of the time, and then they would not be so easy for the lobbyists to find them and bribe them for benefits from Congressional rulings. https://www.nytimes.com/politics/fi...-members-of-congress-are-mostly-millionaires/
