I read every thing I can get my hands on and have no idea who or what to believe. There is continual Contradictory information. Is it just me?

No Lon, You are not alone. I have no idea what is true what is wrong what is right. I have no idea whether we should open up or stay closed. I have no idea why the hell a disease should be political.
    I,m just gonna stay home.

The one thing that I am sure of Pete, is the apparent concerted effort to destroy Trump and his Presidency.

I feel that way too. Where I am in Virginia, there are over 28,000 cases, almost 1000 deaths, and beginning to increase.
But in my city there are 120 cases and 1 death.

But there were 25 cases among the workers reported at a high school that is being renovated.

So the 6-ft rule is not being obeyed in lots of places.

I watch the briefings on national news, but I get the idea that we are in the dark mostly and no one knows for sure what is in the near future.

In reality, we may never really know actual numbers. So many have tested positive for the virus without ever having any symptoms. Others have died from something else and it was learned that they too were positive without symptoms, yet are listed as having died from having the virus. Many things are skewing the numbers and I think it wise to ignore all that is put out there and just use your head and stay safe and sound if you think you are at risk.

You cannot use the words "truth" and "news" in the same sentence, period.

I challenged one of our local channels to report something besides the weather and the #Scamdemic. They didn't rise to the challenge.

Actually, the other day I got shocked...….CNN reported on something else, not the virus.

But, unfortunately, many Millennials and Gen X young folks simply won't obey what governors and/or mayors request or order. When I have watched something on local news or CNN, dealing with crowds and the virus, I see no Seniors in the news clips. So, if there is any certain Generation of folks following requests/orders, it's us Seniors!

Most of us, as seniors now, simply do not go as many places and do as many things as we did when we were younger; so it would make sense that there would be fewer elderly people in crowded places, sunning on the beach, partying in crowded bars, or whatever the younger people are doing.

Whether there was social distancing orders or not, we would still not be in most of those gatherings where there are a large amount of people milling around.
Going out to IHOP once a month was the Big Deal for Bobby and I, otherwise we only went to the store if we needed groceries, and even the monthly trip to Sam’s Club was an event looked forward to.

As far as the actual topic of this thread (truth in daily news), I seldom even bother to read it and I never watch television news, unless we have tornado warnings , which is local news.
What is called news is less about reporting an actual event than it is about spreading propaganda. Television = tell-lie-vision, and why do you suppose they call what you see on the TV “programming”?
There are countries being flooded, people rioting, and all sorts of things happening in this world, but the news only focuses on what they want to program us about.

Wife and I aren't so-called "Social Butterflies", but do (did) enjoy going out to breakfast, going out to dinner, going to the local livestock auction (watching), summer parades/rodeo and going to either of the two local country-western nightclubs in the area to listen to good music. We have dinner and then sit and listen to the band until about 10:30. Then, it's back home. We are much more "home bodies" during the winter months here. Going to Safeway and/or Walmart a time or two during the week...…….wow, that's loads of fun (yea, right LOL).

I like watching tv, but my wife REALLY loves watching tv. HGTV, Gunsmoke, Weather Channel, Celebrity Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, The Masked Singer, American Idol (that just ended), America's Got Talent...…...plus, local news and some CNN. For us, we want to know what's going on. Truth or whatever.

But, my wife's sister, who is 75, can be a real "Social Butterfly", since her husband passed a few years ago. She's always on the go to her two daughters homes. This whole "Stay At Home" thing has got her upset, but she also knows it's the best for her age bracket.

The news is all fear porn. Yes there is a virus but how many will die from the virus or how many will die with the virus also how many will die because we think it is the virus. Those number have all been mixed together so the truth will never be known. The media has a different agenda than tell the truth if it was about health they would be talking about the #1,#2, #3, #4 killers of people but no it is this virus and if a child was to die of this virus in the deepest parts of Africa in would be on the front page of every newspapers to scare your children. All this is fear porn and not about the virus but the politics

Actually, after having had the virus, I have to say this. It simply isn't too smart to be congregating where one is breathing down another's neck. Believe me this was not a walk in the park. Most people survive, but one is going to get good and sick. So good luck with that.

There is very little truth with the Daily News about anything now days. If you want to find truth you will have to dig and sift through all the lies to find it.
