I went to pick up chinese food. It has been a long time. Tasted as good as always but it was more expensive than I remember.

Prices on Chinese food here in the middle of Virginia have gone up. I've not eaten out much since COVID, and recently hit a buffet the next county over. What used to be $9 is now over $13. My local Mexican restaurant has significantly increased prices over the past 2-3 months. I was just reading some complaints on Next Door about local restaurants jacking up prices and cutting back on quantity and the level of service.

Well since covid, I guess all of the restaurants have raised prices and lost service people. We were just saying how much money we've saved being shut- ins. I guess eating out will stay one of our only occasional persuits. I remember people talking about old folks eating pet food because they were poor, in our youth. Pet food is very pricey now, too. We are living in interesting times.

I, too, recognized how much I was saving by being shut in. That's why giving someone like me that "stimulus check" kinda made me mad. I gave most of mine back to the taxpaying workers by leaving hefty tips.

Regarding old people an animal food...I think that was a pile of poop put forward for some political purpose or another. More level-headed people took a look at the price of pet food versus alternatives and found that pet food was an expensive option. If anyone was eating it rather than cheaper, viable alternatives, it was by choice or by lack of "capacity."

Regarding restaurant prices: I think a lot of the increases are due to the recent inflation.
