I paid $10,250 for a new 176 Cadillac Coupe De Ville that gave nothing but trouble from the day I first purchased it. Seems like I always had it back to the dealer.

No idea. I've had a few nice cars over the years, and a few clunkers, but the only one I remember the price of was my '66 VW.

The term expensive is a relative term because if you don’t have much money then everything is expensive. That was me when younger so I always bought used. I accumulated enough at the age of 40 to buy my first new car which was a Dodge Aries which was considered a budget car. Since then. I never considered a luxury vehicle.

The question was simple Ed. How much did you pay?

I don't understand, Lon. You've never paid more than $10,250 for a car??? So have you always bought used?

I've had a bunch of them in the $500 range (including my '63 Continental) and a $1,000 one. Like Ed, I bought used until I was pushing 40, but probably should have continued doing so. But the days of buying $500 reliable vehicles and getting several years of service out of them were long gone.

The most expensive cars I've owned is the new 2019 Mazda CX-5 I bought at $3x,xxxx.

I don't understand. I need am mildly interest in more details.

Are you saying you leased, or were your cars provided by employers?

I used to love going to those antique car shows. I recall seeing old cars with V-12 and V-16 engines. Can you imagine how much that slag of cast iron weighed? Mileage would stink but you could hit a moose and not even feel it. The V-16 Caddy cost about $6,000 at the time.

My 2012 Mazda 3 Touring cost me about $25000 when I bought it new in January 2012.

Not wishing idiotic car payments, I paid cash.

Mazdas are manufactured in Hiroshima, Japan.

I bought my first Mazda in 2019. Mazda has had 2 Hiroshima plants and one in Hofu, which is likely where your Mazda 3 was manufactured. They have just built and opened a plant in Huntsville, in partnership with Toyota.
