I most miss being able to spend time with family/relatives/friends who are either deceased or in different locations. :(

Hey Cody, I have arthritis in both hands and my left foot. It's not bad but I have learned that by putting my hands and fingers through full range of motion movements, I build some strength, and am better able to deal with the pain.

I question your comment that it is just part of aging and we have to accept it. Check out this Blog and the Aging Curve Video. You may find it interesting.

My pain is a nagging/achy type, not real bad at all. Mostly annoying. Have an appointment next month to get a Cortisone shot in the shoulder.

Am going to try some shoulder elastic-band exercises starting next week. A couple of times a week. If the shoulder starts hurting more, I will ditch the exercise thing.

I miss some things, but not due to age.I have been losing my hearing for over 20 years...not age realted.
But because of my fading hearing, I have not been able to ride a bicycle, swim, even dancing my balance is not as good.
So those are we what I miss. Life could be worse so I just deal with it.:)

I'm an over weight seventy three year old who smokes a carton and a half a week. I still do almost every thing I did before except wear high heels. Some things may take me a little longer but I do them. I go with a couple friends once in awhile to the local pub and have some fun dancing and cutting up. I'm just lucky I guess.

One of the things I miss most is being able to have a good night's sleep more often. This has been a problem for years and despite trying herbal supplements, and prescription sleeping pills etc. nothing seems to work well. Recently I asked some of my peers what they did to get some quality zzz's and got some interesting answers ... spray the room with lavender fragrance, take cough syrup (Benadryl), or indulge with a shot of Baileys. ;)

Just the opposite, I miss being able to get by on a few hours sleep. I could get so much more done if I wasn't sleeping eight or nine hours every night.

CeeCee you are in the same place we all end up. Grandies are too busy for us. Life seems to pass you by. My grandies say "call anytime" but when you do you are basically interrupting the things they would rather be doing. But you do have us who need you...

True! I still have 3 younger ones but they're in Illinois. :(

I was texting with my son yesterday and he told me that Liam asked him if he was texting with Grandma Chris and when he replied yes..Liam told his dad he wants to move to California and live with me.

This is my youngest grandson who will be 7 on Sunday. I see them only once or twice a year at the most and they love me so....makes my heart sing! :)

    Yea....me too!

@Ken Anderson, do you mean because they died? If yes, then my next question is....I thought you believed that when you die you will see your loved ones in heaven.

Some have died, yes; but others are simply spread out around the country and world. As for heaven, we haven't been told much about it.

    Thanks for the clarification!

I miss my husband and mother the most. I loved my grandparents more than anything but seems I don't cry anymore when I think of them.

I can still cry thinking about my mom and even my husband who died 13 yrs ago.

What I miss the most is the ability to climb up on chairs and ladders. I'm doing some fall cleaning and need to wash my kitchen curtains. I used to climb up in a chair and take them down and put them back up. My back windows are so high that I had to climb to the second from top rung of a step ladder to wash them. I had an attack of vertigo couple of years ago and now I'm afraid to climb.

This is exactly how it seems to me, too, @Jim Beam . I know that my kids are busy with their own lives, and their own families, and I never know when is a good time to call. I think that most of our interaction comes from reading each other’s Facebook pages, and I am not even sure if my kids read mine or not.
I enjoy being outside, but the weather here does not seem to facilitate outside activity. Most of the time it is hot and muggy, and the rest of the time, it is cold and muggy. And did I mention the mosquitoes ? You can hardly see through the mosquitos, and it doesn’t matter to them whether you are wearing repellant or not.
I think that is one of the things that I miss most , is just being able to be outside more, and not all of that is due to my age.

Lately I really miss the energy I used to have to do things. My get up and go has definitely got up and went. :)

I watch my weight, exercise, still work a physical job...
but can't seem to stop the on-set of getting older.

My balance is also giving me fits. Wife said I seem to have a 'wandering'
gait when we were exploring on our vacation.

Adding the memory loss, guess it's time to see the Doc for some test.

My imbalance was caused by the lens in my new prescription glasses, once this was corrected my balance corrected too. But I've heard hearing loss can be a cause of imbalance too.

You sure that "wandering gait" on your vacation wasn't caused by one drink to many Tim?:p

There is many things I miss going north fishing each year. Walking through the woods and swamps looking for something I have never seen before [plants, insects, and reptiles]. The one thing I miss the most was getting up in the morning going onto the deck of the boat getting my snorkeling gear on grabbing the fish spear and jumping over board hunting dinner. I have scuba dive in the past that was neat especially at night seeing all those beautiful thing and then shutting the light off it was like you were in outer space as all the little microscopic animals began to light up like stars in the sky and if you passed your hand through it was like the fairy dust you see in cartoons. Snooping around reefs was somewhat like walking through the woods you never knew what you might see next.

I miss being able to go for long walks. The hiking trails I made all around our property are overgrown now.
