Here at an advanced old age, were I in charge of the universe, I would make a few changes.
Nothing drastic you understand, merely a few tweaks here and there to suit my fancy. I would start where I live here in the small hamlet of Norman where the University of Oklahoma is a prominent fixture.

For starters and before breakfast I would cancel the football program. I would do this knowing Dick Sabin at the University Of Alabama makes over six million annually and that several other coaches around the country make five million or more. In an economy that has been shrinking for several years, where the middle class has been shredding members from its ranks into near poverty, in a state whose educational system is cutting school hour attendance and teachers, to raise the pay of the football coach to five million annually is insane in a program that benefits mostly sports.

After breakfast I will look at CEO pay around the country and what we pay these clowns that are supposed to be representing us in Congress. We will make a few more tweaks. Keep the faith and have a good day.

I agree Bill we have far too many people being over paid for the services they provide. The only change I would make in your plan so far is I would start with our useless government. No more lifetime job benefits let them live in S/S like the rest of us do when we stop working.

I'd make cars run on water. I think that would solve a lot of the political problems in the world today.

Good idea, Joe and Chris. Why don't everyone give the subject matter two minutes thought and let's hear some of your ideas on the subject. Patsy, I like lists and I'm a patient guy, let's hear what's on yours. I'm needing material to feed my blog. How about that British vote?

I wouldn't build a wall on our south border. A fence, with observation towers within sight of each other, manned at all times. With searchlights, radios, machine guns and all.
Teachers would be better trained. All nonsense would be removed from schools, and reading, writing, arithmetic civics and geography would be taught.
School sports would be limited to baseball and basketball.
    Term limits for all politicians.
I would impose a pay ceiling on political positions. And limit perks.
No lawyer would be allowed to hold a political office.
The death penalty for certain crimes.
    No businesses open on Sunday.
    That would be a start.

    Ike ! - You've taken me thoughts ! :p
OK - I'll add, I would like to control the weather, every day would be Spring, so that we have the rain but no flooding
We would have the Sun, but no heat waves and 'no' snow ................

Well thanks Ike and Patsy. Good ideas all. But you oughta know I'm pretty good at doing the impossible, but I've never tried a Miracle (that may not be spelled right). I'm going to consult my crystal ball.

For starters everyday would be cloudy and about 60-65 degrees. Light bothers my eyes. I would get rid of politics and religion, both cause too many problems in the world. You can still believe in whatever God you want but keep it to yourself. Then there wouldn't be problems of who's religion is the right one. Same with politics. One party but people vote for laws. Majority rules.

Get rid of hate but I think if you got rid of religion and politics, hate would just disappear.

    Have 3 seasons, no summer.

Have a pill that makes you happy and it's not addictive and no side effects and it's free. Same with pain relief. Other than that keep illnesses because people do have to die of something, we all can't live to 100!

Karma actually working....people would be very careful.

That's it for now....hope you can deliver. :)

Ah, thank you for those beautiful clips of "If I were King." They have made me realize I am a mere wizard and could never be King. But it was a good thought. Together with my queen I will rule my household and you rule your household and together maybe we can have the best of households and the best of kingdoms in the whole universe. And if not Peace on Earth then the best of what's available. Cheers to you all. May you find happiness in your time.
