I have been reading your posts, and even responded to some of them, but have completely neglected to do the basic thing of just giving you a warm welcome to the forum, @Lois Winters ; so here I am (better late than never, right ?), to wish you a wonderful time writing on the forum, and saying how welcome you are . I am a misplaced north Idaho girl, now living in the South, in Alabama. My daughter moved here, after she retired from the military, and I am here to be closer to her. Actually, I don’t miss having snow each winter, and enjoy the longer growing season, although not the humidity we have down here all summer long.
Thank you Yvonne. Oddly, one of our states I missed ever visiting was Idaho. Don't know why, just never got up there. I have been to Alabama several times in my life, especially in the AF. Montgomery mainly, both at Gunter and Maxwell bases. Huntsville is a terrific city and I am told a wonderful place to live. Of course it is a very important part of NASA. Frankly, now that I am not driving anymore, the snow doesn't bother me again. It is the damp frigid air we get here on the East Coast in NJ. I loved snow when I was a kid-what kid doesn't?-but later, it was aggravating when I had to get to work or school. I have never celebrated Christmas in a warm climate and can't imagine doing so. My friends in Australia get a kick out of seeing Santa surf in on Christmas Eve. lol.............
Thanks for jumping right in and being an active poster!! It's the best way to get to know everyone and for us to get to know you!!
Heyyy Lois, sorry I'm a little late to the welcome party... All this arguin', about where the best people are from..*tsk*..those folks have no idea, the best are from right here in the good old UK.... specifically from here in the south of England..
