If your setting were set to not accept cookies, that would do that. Without accepting cookies, you'd have to log in again every time the screen refreshed.

I don't have any settings to not accept cookies. Besides this just started last night and I haven't made any changes to my settings. I dumped the cache and cookies, closed down, restarted and logged back in. The problem persists.

I'll just try to avoid the "home" button.

I also use Firefox (version 82.0.2. right now) as I said without problems. My settings will delete any cockies when I close the browser. Would it be too much of a hassle to reinstall a fresh version of Firefox then?

I haven't had any problem with any site except this one, so I'm not ready to reinstall Firefox. :D

@Beth Gallagher, I know you are going to avoid the 'home' button but this had me thinking about why that would happen. It will be an unsolved mystery to me now, lol.

I know what you mean, Von. I only posted this thread to see if there had been a change in the forum software since I had made no changes on my end, and I was curious if others were experiencing the issue. Maybe there has been an update to Firefox and my associated add-ons that I'm not aware of, but I'm not bothering with this any longer. So I'm considering this annoyance closed. :D

There have been no changes made to the software or the hosting of the site.

Well, I accessed the forum with the Opera browser and don't have the problem, so I'm going with some random Firefox add-on or setting. I have the most recent Firefox but I don't know what goes on with those add-ons.

    Just another data point:

I don't have this issue and I'm using Firefox 82.0.2 (64 Bit) on WIN 10.

If I recall, Firefox did away with Add Ons and went with Extensions...or they just changed the terminology, since definitions tend to be "squishy."

    I have these Extensions:
    -Ad Block (enabled here)
    -DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials (enabled here)
    -Video DownloadHelper

I turned off the native Enhanced Tracking Protection for this site. It must have been causing me issues.
DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials has caused issues on other sites, but not here.

Every once in a while the site seems to log me out, usually if I close all tabs where it's open and then get on the site in a new tab. But that's a 10% frequency rate. I just tried closing all SeniorsOnly tabs and opening the site in a fresh one...I stayed logged in.

I never close by browser during the day. I close it when I go to bed and shut the laptop lid so it Sleeps. I do not turn off/reboot unless I think it needs the refresh, and that's likely less than weekly.

The only add ons I'm using currently are Ad Block Plus, Ad Block Ultimate, and Malwarebytes. I had to whitelist this website on Malwarebytes because I kept getting a scam warning due to the security certificate. I think my issue is the same as @Nancy Hart's. What I don't understand is why it suddenly started happening when I had made no changes to my settings and Ken has made no changes to his for the forum. :D I supposed I need to see what happened with the last Malwarebytes updates.

1-What version of Firefox are you using?
2-What URL do you use to get here? (I use www.seniorsonly.club)
3-What url displays in the Address bar?

Interesting that Nancy talks about changing from a secure address to a non-secure address (https vs http)
My browser never displays any such thing. The Home page for me displays www.seniorsonly.club/
All thread urls start with www.seniorsonly.club/

Perhaps the display of http(s) is repressed here for some reason. It shows on all other websites.

If I copy/paste the url from the Address bar, https:\\ is inserted. Don't know if the forum software automatically does this.

I'm running the latest version of Firefox. The URL displayed is the same as yours; Ken has explained several times that there's no security certificate for the forum.

Here's the Firefox "Enhanced Tracking Protection" info.
