That's why the medicinal advertising industry goes so far to let people know about their product. People may not have a particular problem at the time but when they see it or hear about it, they have seen a treatment for it via a disgusting advertisement.

I prefer that my internal organs remain inside me at all times, although for a bladder this little guy has very expressive eyes...

Chrissy, that reminds me of a movie line where Mae West says to a boyfriend:

"Is that a pistol in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?"

We haven't got this advert in Britain but all our commercial programmes are purgatory. Adverts break the train of thought, I can imagine that somebody from another planet would consider them mentally damaging. I know they pay for the shows and it is a price we have to pay. Even our State TV runs hours of trails before every programme but at least you can adjust starting times.
I believe they originally wanted to introduce subliminal advertising which sent you to the shop for corn flakes you didn't need without you knowing it.

I was watching TV this evening and a commercial came on for a senior dating group.. They were saying that many seniors are single and would like to meet other seniors.. That's OK so far..
Now at the end of the commercial they said the different qualifications you had to have in order to join.. That was OK till the last one was..... You must be over 18 years old to join....
Hey, its a senior dating group, not a teenager group.... What does being 18 years old have to do with it..
I can understand if they said 55 years or something like that, but 18 years ..... c'mon.....

Funny @Steve North. I saw an ad today for something that was directed toward seniors, and it stated that you had to be born before 1987 to qualify for the senior rate.... I guess folks in their 30s are now seniors...maybe due to reduced life expectancy?

That may be because they neither want to discriminate against those seniors who (want to) date young(er) folks nor against those who feel attracted by seniors but are much younger but old enough, i.e., 18.
I'm being reminded of a mature and wealthy building contractor whose girl-friends are very, very young. Nothing is impossible.
