Have you had any, or plan on having any, weekend trips planned during this time? We have two planned. First one, end of this month and reservations made for rental car/hotel in a casino town here. Second, at the end of next month (August) for a rodeo in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Rodeo tickets already paid for and reservation for hotel done. Only 250 tickets being sold for the rodeo. However, we do have some mindful reservations about going, but the plan right now is to definitely go.
I don't have any firm plans, but have not been to the [Atlantic] beach in a while. The Outer Banks in North Carolina is a 3 /12 hour trip, Virginia Beach is maybe an hour closer...all depending on traffic. I will likely go there at least once. I've been to Virginia Beach for Christmas twice. I like the beach in the winter...a very serene experience. I'd love to see more of this country while I am still able. I've lived in Virginia since I was 9 years old (have vague memories of Indiana,) and other than a week in Mew Mexico, I've not traveled off the east coast except for work.
The Atlantic is 7 miles from me as the crow flies but during the summer the visitors here make it not worth the trip.
We may end up cancelling the casino trip, but, from all aspects, not the rodeo trip. Mountains, wildlife and rodeo action are some of the main things we moved back here for. Oh yea, and lakes.
Cancelled our casino weekend trip this AM. Still have plans, tickets and hotel reservation for rodeo at the end of next month (August). Compared to the rodeo, the casino trip would've cost us in upwards of $1000 (car rental, hotel, food and gambling).
