The second world war left so many deep scars in the history of our country. Until now, there is a group of women in the provinces who are trying to claim reparation (in money) for the sufferings they endured during the war. They were the so called comfort women who were forced to become sex slaves of the Japanese soldiers. Our country was under the Japanese military rule for 3 years and you can imagine the submissiveness of the populace to the whims and caprices of those soldiers. But anyway, past is past and let bygones be bygones. The younger generation, including my generation, are not much affected by those historical scars.
