A screenshot?...not a picture?
I'm not sure I know how to capture a screenshot...
Trying a screenshot..
Ok...I managed to work out how to post a screenshot from my Ipad..above...
So I'm not alone. I tried to upload photos this morning several times and got that the file was too big. I cropped them but couldn't get them all to upload only three. I might try again tomorrow before I start Phase II of the bedroom I'm painting.
Ok, I see it works for you...why isn't it big? Without me having to click on it..are you doing upload a file? Then choose file from your screenshots or camera roll?
I have the iPad Air. The old one....
Ok, now it worked....sometimes does, sometimes doesn't. But I deleted it because even though it was a screenshot, it seemed "live" and I could click on something in my screenshot and it took me there.....so weird.
I have the new Ipad air 2
Yes I've been getting that same message about the pics being too big..even though I have reduced them...
Ok, it might be different.
I give up right now...I've never posted a screen shot or photo and then be able to touch it where it said mail at the top and it went to my mail....holy moly and yikes!!
There are limits on file size. The default size or photos taken by cameras is too large to be displayed on a computer screen anyhow, so I would be paying for server space that is wasted. If you reduce images to 800-pixel width, that should reduce the file size to be acceptable.
Is 800 the size you want? When I have a choice to make sometimes, I never know what size to chose....
Now I know...will do!!
I have posted file pictures without a problem.
Yeah, 800 pixel-width works the best. They display well in the forum and they won't be rejected for file size.
I have no problem on my iPhone, the problem seems to be with my updated iPad.
Is there a place that indicates whether a picture is 800 pixel width? Cropping just isn't helping when I try to upload.
I am trying to remember what the Windows equivalent of Mac's "Preview" is. Probably someone here will know. On a Mac, when I click on a photo or image, it will display in an application called "Preview," and I can view or edit the size right from there -- View/Adjust Size. There is probably a Windows equivalent. Windows Photo Viewer, maybe?
Or if I right click, there is an option for "Get Info" which will tell me what the size of the file is, along with other information.
any idea why not?
won't upload to what @Janice Martin ..and from where?
Oh goodness, sorry, I meant to say I was trying to upload a jpg from my desktop in a comment here on the forum.
Oh, there shouldn't be a problem uploading from your desktop to here unless it's too large. Have you tried reducing the size a little bit/?
No, because the only photo editor I know how to work is GIMP, and for some reason that's not working either.
Are you by chance referencing the "upload a file" dialog box
not working? When mine doesn't work, I simply copy and paste.
it looks like this works! Thanks Harry! I didn't know c/p was an option!
I recently joined and never could get the upload to work and thought it must be a feature for older members, so experiemented.
However, after seeing your original post I find it now works for me.
I never had any problem with it before recently, so it must be computer-related.
