It is just as important to vote for the best senators, congressmen, governors...in the coming elections as it is to vote for the best president. People don't think about that and often don't even bother with the primaries. Ours is coming up and so many are sick of what is going on and feeling that there is nothing we can do anymore. VOTE!!!

I'm not optimistic about any change and worry that if Trump does get elected, something bad will happen to him.

This is so important, Mary. A president alone can do very little. Executive orders can be changed in a heartbeat.

    ---

That said, I want to say something good about a Democrat. If you knew me better you would know how rare this is and especially for this guy but he has been more sensible lately.

Fetterman breaks from Kamala Harris on Israel’s plan to invade Rafah

Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) disagreed with Vice President Kamala Harris for not ruling out that there could be “consequences” for Israel if they invade Rafah.

Fetterman has staunchly taken Israel's side ever since Hamas's brutal Oct. 7 attack. Amid cries for a ceasefire to ensure aid and safety for Palestinians under heavy Israeli fire, the Pennsylvania Democrat has maintained his support for Israel while denouncing Hamas.

"Hard disagree," Fetterman wrote on X, along with a screenshot of Harris's interview. "Israel has the right to prosecute Hamas to surrender or to be eliminated. Hamas owns every innocent death for their cowardice hiding behind Palestinian lives."

I may not agree with all Fetterman stands up for, but I am grateful for him speaking up for what I believe is right and true, and spitting in both kamala's and schumer's eye, and anyone else who wants run another country when they can't even run their own.

Don't tell anyone but there have actually been Democrats that I approved of. Ron Paul even had one as a friend in Congress;)
I do wonder about their changes of heart so close to an election. But we'll see.

I know there are reasonable people on the democrat side for sure. Some have taken the big step of moving to the Right. I know when I talk about the Left having a screw loose, I'm usually talking about those in government positions, and think they are above the law. Seems they are since they are getting away with breaking our laws.

I don't personally know of any democrats around me that are even paying any attentions to what's going on ;) Any friends I've had long-term are like-minded on the important things, but we may disagree on more unimportant things. Even some democrats no longer want open borders so you know this is having something to do with possibly uniting us in a good cause ;)

In the "good old days", legislators from both parties befriended each other in Congress. They were legislative foes, but outside Congress, they were friends and other had dinner together. That is no longer the case and hasn't been for some time. I am not sure when it changed, but now many, especially among the Republicans, are not even friends with members of their own party. As the Democrats get wackier and wackier, some Dems are stepping away from other members of their party. I think, if the nation lasts long enough, a third party will form and members of both existing parties will join it. It has happened in the past and I think it may happen again That is how the current Democrat party started, as a pro-slavery party under Andrew Jackson. Republicans replaced the Whigs, an anti-Jackson party, as an abolitionist party whose main party platform was the destruction of slavery.

It changed when Newt Gingrich became Speaker of the House (1995-1999).

When Democrats and Republicans collaborate, only the Democrats are represented.

Correct. I think Democrats and Republicans are both; just one party. It's a b-i-g secret.

I think you may be misreading things, Shirley. It looks to me like the folks with their panties in a wad are the MAGA Republicans, not the Trump haters.
Just count all the outrage threads here. Doom and gloom. The world is coming to an end. [IMG]

If you are referring to the person who uses tRump, he only comments about once a week on average. Hardly what I'd call hysterical.

I'm talking about another forum that I read on but haven't joined. I will have to agree with you that some members here are going a bit overboard with their hatred. I may have to stop posting on those political threads.

WSJ Poll: Trump Leads Biden in 6 of 7 Swing States

Former President Donald Trump is holding a lead over President Joe Biden in six out of seven of the nation's most competitive battleground states, both on test ballots that include third-party and independent candidates and in a one-on-one matchup, according to a new Wall Street Journal Poll.

The poll, reflecting dissatisfaction with the economy and doubts about Biden's job performance and ability to serve, showed Trump with leads of between 2 and 8 percentage points in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Nevada, Michigan, Georgia, and Arizona when the independent and third-party candidates were included, and by similar numbers with just himself and Trump, reports The Wall Street Journal on Wednesday.

Personally, I don't have a lot of faith in polls but this is current according to NewsMax.

But Biden has been placing illegals for the electoral college, at least. The EC won Trump the presidency. And then the libs wanted to do away with it. They now find it useful to cheat with.

They are here now and more coming in, I hear very little from the RINOs so I don't have much hope at all for this nation.
If Trump does try to send them back, there will be a war with, millions of Bidens Trojan Horse young warriors to fight. I'm not sure we could win.
