Wow, that performance should be titled "The Over-the-Hill Gang Sings Stagger Lee." Mr. Price still sounded good, though. :D:D:D (And RIP Leon. :()

Lloyd Price was 78 years old at the time of the video. I think they all sounded good, although the lyrics were muffled. But all, except Price, put their mouths right up at, or against, the microphone. And all three piano players.

Mr. General Contractor just came by and dropped off a bottle of wine. I know nothing about wine. It has a cork. ;)

    Label says:

    big table farm
    Pinot Noir - 2017
    Willamette Valley, Oregon

Label: . Reina and Henreitta of Big Table Farm

    So far I've learned:

    1) It's a dry wine (thank you!)

    2) "As the wine ages, pinot has the potential to develop more vegetal and "barnyard" aromas that can contribute to the complexity of the wine." - Wikipedia o_O

    Hope it's not too complex!

If the barnyard aromas have anything to do with a pig's butt, I'd read the ingredients.

No ingredients listed, except it says it contains sulfites.

Maybe the secret is to not let it age very long. I'll have to try it soon.

What you have there is a very good wine. Were you to order a bottle or go out and find a bottle in
in one of your fine liquor stores, you would pay, give or take a couple of bucks, fifty dollars a bottle.
I have drank wines from the Williamette Valley and all were superb. Congratulations.

The way I figure, it must be really good, otherwise they wouldn't dare put a sketch of pigs on it. Too easy to make fun of.

I'll bet Von Jones could design a cover for it.

Our tulips are trying to push into bloom. If we don't have another frost, and we shouldn't, they'll be up next week. My son's trees are beginning to bud, down the shore.

Yes, I know she could, and she could make it pretty. Thanks for reminding me of this project, Lois. I forgot all about it.
I know. The wild onions and other weeds are out in full force already, so I better get busy.

Someone made this from an old conveyor belt. I saved the belt from an old tread mill machine, if I can figure out how to attach it. :p

@Lois Winters I bet you right Lois. Von has great talents, i'm sure she could design eye catching labels.

I really wanted to like this wine. It is not cheap. No excuses. Appreciated the gift and wanted to save the cork.

Had to consult YouTube videos on how to remove it without a corkscrew. After an hour of trying several methods that night without success, I had begun to develop a negative attitude, so put it aside. ;)

Gave up on the cork next morning, and had a small glass before noon. It made me sleepy all day. I really can't afford to lose any more momentum.

To call it tart would be a serious understatement. Maybe a wine not quite so dry would be better.

Remembered the girl on the TV commercial who says wine is no good after you open the bottle, so it's now or never. Yesterday I took a small sip every now and then throughout the day. Maybe I'll still develop a taste for it, or is it too late already?

    From Big Table Farm website:

"This wine (2017 Pinot Noir) has a beautiful balance of raspberry fruit profile with warm spice, black tea and a delicate cocoa. The fruit on the palate is juicy but if you lean in there is a quiet brooding character to this wine that still has a lot yet to give. The Acid holds the fruit in check and the tannins keep the gentle momentum into a long finish. "

Maybe I haven't "leaned in" enough. Experts on YouTube claim you must drink Pinot Noir in a glass like this.

    I refuse to buy a glass or a cork screw. I don't try to be different, just to be different. {sigh}

In order to properly appreciate wine, you have to buy two bottles. After swigging the first one down in one sitting, you will gain an appreciation for the second bottle. I heard that from a friend.
