Beth, under the cares act, you cannot be evicted. Government backed mortgages are held in abeyance for the time being.

 

But isn't that the same for renters? Why are we talking about the CARES act?

 

Sheese! There are different rules for renters than mortgage holders. Mitch McConnell declared recess and went home letting renter protections expire. Mortgage rules are still in effect. But keep on arguing if it make you feel better.

I'm not trying to argue. I'm just not talking about the CARES act or any other "act." The thread topic is evictions, with no mention of any government program whatsoever. And there were many more politicians involved in that "expiration" than just Mitch McConnell.
