That's the thing Cody...I'm lucky we can afford it, but I don't want to waste money unnecessarily..in this case it's not me but my O/H... we can travel any other time of the year but when it comes to Christmas or Ester or the school holidays..prices shoot up hugely for fares and accommodation..and that's unfair... Sure, I have no qualms about them adding extra because people have to work over those periods who would otherwise spend time with their families, but airline and hotels and resorts just completely take advantage out of the average wage earner.. meaning they have a much lesser chance of being able to afford a holiday in high season... We would usually take a vacation out of high season but this year Christmas is the only time hubs is going to get time off, and he's worked so hard the last few weeks.. 90 hours plus the last few weeks alone...that he deserves a nice rest ...but it just annoys me that he'll have to pay such a premium for something that will cost so much less just a few weeks earlier or later..

@Babs Hunt , I'll let you know what we've decided to do once I have a good think about it... :D

Here in Nashville, the Hotel rate actual drops quite a bit.
It is the slow time at our Hotel.

Of course Christmas in Nashville is not like going to New York
or Disney World for the holiday, but for those visiting family here,
they can stay Downtown and enjoy the parade, lights and a Southern Christmas.

Recharging with a holiday is one of best things I can think of.

I know that if we hadn't gone to Washington in September, we would be heading
    somewhere for Christmas.:)

Forget to mention my pit and peak yesterday.

Peak: eye exam was good, everything is fine and even my cataracts aren't that urgent but I want to get them over with...maybe next year!!
Also, the assistant or technician who was examining my eyes said I had such pretty color eyes. :)
She might say that to everyone but it made my day.

Pit: as I'm driving home after spending almost 2 hrs at that appt, he was running behind but I was happy...the need to change oil soon message popped up. :(

I guess, it's just that I never have it done in Fresno. Not even sure where to take it. Used to go to Firestone with my old car but maybe I'll look for a jiffy Lube that's closer.

Peak...after 4 PTs, I can stretch my arm straight up and out...yay.

Reaching back is still painful but I'm happy with my progress.

I think it's the deep tissue massages the therapist gives...they hurt when she's doing it but I think it helps.

They also do Ice and a tens machine along with my stretching exercises.

No pit so far but it's still early. :)

Oh No...Gloria, that's horrible news... I do hope your grand-daughter is going to be ok.. it's such a shock when something like that happens because we sometimes feel we should still be protecting our kids and grandkids, even when they're adults..

Peak : Some new heat pads for my shoulder tendinitis arrived today ( not really a peak )... but at least they'll help...

I have shoulder tendinitis and since I started the therapy it seems my shoulder doesn't hurt as much and not every day either.

Doing the PT mainly for the frozen arm and that's so much better and mainly because of the massage I think.

My shoulder hurt every single day, no matter what I took or did and I just noticed that it's not been hurting or not as much.

I also don't know what is working for it...massage, exercise, or the tens machine and ice ...maybe all 3.

Still ha e a ways to go with the range of motion with my arm, especially reaching behind my back but I can comb my hair without pain now...yay.

I have tendinitis in Both shoulders...it's agonising. there's so much I can't do. Can't put my own coat on without help... agony to brush my hair. So .. painful to wash my hair in the shower... can't even scratch my back if I have an itch because I simply can't put my arms behind me...and I cant dry any part of the back of my body after a shower.. Can't reach under a base cupboard for anything

Driving is Painful too..I find the only way I can drive without squealing with pain is to thread the steering wheel through my hands ( like we were taught when we were first learning)...to try and minimize the movement in my shoulders. driving a manual ( which is usual in the Uk automatics are not popular here)... make it so much worse having to change gear...

I wouldn't mind so much if that was all that's wrong with me but currently I have several medical problems all at the same time, and some days I don't know which way to turn with the pain coming from all angles... :(

@Holly Saunders I'm really sorry to hear you are having so many health problems at this time. That is very stressful. Do y'all have Physical Theraphy over there that maybe could help your tendinitis too?

Thank you @Babs Hunt it is very stressful, and more so because I've gone from being a very active person just months ago to a shadow of that and unable to even carry out the most basic of tasks . Having just retired 4 months ago, I was expecting to be able to do so much, but instead the last 4 months have been spent in pain and I've spent 90% of my time at home, which is driving me crazy.

, yes we do have pt here, but tbh it's not a lot of help. I find that by using exercise specifically for shoulder tendinitis from online Videos , and buying my own equipment to use at home, is more beneficial... and less costly... £50 an hour here for PT, for the same exercise I can do at home...

Anyway, i thank you all for your kindness, and to the gentleman poster who sent me an email with great exercise suggestions, thank you very much it's all muchly appreciated ...

..but I don't want to turn this thread into a pity party for me... so thank you all again...

This is where I go, it was a referral by my dr.

    http://www.myterrio.com/index.php

I have no idea what it costs though...I have a $10 copay and insurance pays the rest. Insurance has approved 12 sessions so far.

Today will be my 5th one.

trouble is we have the NHS...so our medical is free , which means long waiting lists ..so to see an NHS PT would tkae around 3 months for a 15 minute appt and then another 3 months for the next one...absolutely useless ( I had the same problem with the herniated lumber discs in my back)...so in cases like this we have to pay out of pocket for a Private practitioner, so we can have as many sessions as we need but it's very expensive..

That's sucks! And yes, PT is expensive if you have to pay for it.
