Thanks a lot, my sister lives about 6 Mi away. So far I'm doing okay, I will seek counseling if I think I need it.
Thanks for the fishing offer I would have loved it if I lived closer, I remember at one point seems like I was ordering from Bass Pro Shop every week, lures, worms, Rod's, reels, I eventually wound up with a ginormous freshwater tackle box. I have 1 used live bait but I really enjoyed temping them with Lures. This belongs on a different thread let me sign out.

The last couple of days I was able to do a little game building. I haven't had enough energy to sit here for a half a day and usually need a nap around noon. So the 3 cats and I put the windshield heat shield in the window and turn the air up and snooze a few hours. I got quite a bit done but haven't pushed myself. Done a lot of housekeeping on the computer and have hard drives stored that naturally have some things I need to make the games. I'll spend some time tomorrow and go thru all of them where I THINK they might be., mostly sound effects. So I guess the peak of the day is knowing I got some good working game objects working with little or no trouble. I stay away sometimes for months and need to refresh my memory how to do certain things. I was hoping to do something in 3d but have never taken the time. It is much more involved than using 2d game engines. I'm going to try and get my Halloween pin ball game ready for the holiday. It already works fine but only compiled to run on a PC. I don't like wasting my time porting things to cell or handheld devices. It is a lot of fun..

Peak: We were able to pay back some much overdue carma. A long time friend had 4 tickets to every home UNC baketball game, and We kept 15/501 hot thru 3 decades from Dean Smith to Roy Williams. She had knee and hip replacement during the pandemic and hadn't driven. We got her car running, inspected ,maintained and whatnot. She has always been so independent I was surprised she let us help.

Pit: After a 16 hour day yesterday (2 hours on the road each way) to play with our grand daughter then today prentending to be a mech. my gas tank is below empty. The fuel light came on around noon and starting sucking air at 3. I believe a nice quiet herbalist healing session on the deck may be just what the dr. ordered.

I'll just begin my day with the pit part. I fed the two waifs who wait for breakfast each morning on the porch. One was the mother of the 3 I now have and she is a pretty long hair gray. Pretty wild but really pretty. So while I was stumbling around feeding them I had my coffee maker on the edge of the counter top and while preparing the other cats breakfast the doggone pot fell off the counter top breaking my pot. I thought I had an extra pot left over but I couldn't find it.. thought about it for a while and I just sat the cup under the pot and made one cup since I only have one cup in the mornings anyway. On a good note pension was posted so now I can spend a good portion on another coffee pot. Already have to go renew my drivers license because they target seniors and do not send out notices nor do they allow us to pay on line like the rest of the population. I wish I had lots of money because I would file a lawsuit since I meet the posted requirements to have that online renewal. That is enough proof to show they do target seniors, to have a law posted online and they do not honor it. I fully understand a person with a bad driving record or serious medical condition should go to the office and renew, but to target us because of age is discrimination. I continue to tell people how corrupt and backwards this state really is. I am thinking about writing my state representatives but past complaints are never looked at. I once wrote and complained about the VA not even trying to get my hernia surgery done again. The dumb a_s wrote back he sent me the address of the VA. I wrote back and told him thanks for nothing, I'll remember you at election time. Most of them try to act ignorant and be comedians when in front of the cameras, that kennedy is a good example. They all act like hicks instead of trying to present themselves as educated and knowledgeable. Until I die I will continue to regret ever moving back to this state, I deserve what I get. And now for my morning coffee I worked so hard for.

My sister passed early last Sunday, I spent the day at her daughter's house. The viewing was on Wednesday, and the funeral was on Thursday.
Monday was a full day my wife has her Immunology treatment in the morning and afternoon there was all kinds of delays, then she went to the heart specialist that evening. Everything turned out good in the end.
Yesterday I was just a little tired and zoning out a little bit, I seem to be coming out of it today getting back to normal. Looking forward to being back on SOC.

My condolence to you and your family. The past 3 years I have just about lost my entire immediate family. I still have 2 younger sisters but they are in their mid 60s. I think a lot of my fellow veterans I flew with wonder why I don't use facebook to stay in touch any longer. Truth is I got tired of reading the list of people I knew well leaving us. The past year at least 4 people I knew well have passed. May you have a long peaceful full life and may your family forever live in your heart.

Just extremes of bad news and good news, huh Tony? It's as though we run out of "normal."

I'm glad you share the burden (and the joy) here...we can each carry a bit.

I went through a period like that. I was pallbearer three times in the span of a few months, and went to a handful of funerals of friends & families of friends. I've lost 2 brothers, and have 2 older sisters (72 and 76) and a younger brother (62) left. I don't have contact with them. I'm glad you have your cats. Taking care of another critter beings a certain purpose (and value) with it.

When my coffee makers get all limed up, I stop trying to clean them and send my pot to the thrift store. I have a water distiller so it does not happen very often. But there are a lot of them there. I found the plate that goes in my microwave there after I broke it. I love thrift stores like Good Will and St Vincent De Paul for recylcing. It is like a treasure hunt, shopping there.

So sorry for the loss of your sister, Tony. You have really had a full plate lately; I hope things settle down for you. How is your wife doing?

She's doing okay but she still is going to have conference calls with a counselor starting next Tuesday. Hopefully they'll calm her down a little more.
