I have been playing on the computer since the mid eighties when my first "computer" was an old Texas Instrument. All it actually consisted of was a keyboard that hooked into the television set and just about all you could do was make titles for videos.

When the internet came about, I was using my computer at work and it was C dos and although everything you needed to took a fair knowledge of making trial and error batch files and finally with some luck the program would work. I remember when Windows made their arrival I was one of the people who decided that is was just a stupid fad and would not last very long (I am not always right)! My first home computer was a "WebTV" unit which was pretty cool even if it was somewhat limited.

Now, of course I have a modern PC and can do just about anything I want to and rarely get into a jam.

Now where am I going with all of this? Simple! I have been on the web for years and have been a member of many forums, but this is first one that is actual. Actual meaning having members who are real people and not remade versions! So to @Ken Anderson who started it and all the members, "Thank You!"

I want to add my Thanks also. It is nice to have a place where the conversation makes sense and relative to the real world. The group has a good mix of experences and knowledge. I enjoy coming to the site to see what is up with the group and read the great stories shared here.

Thank you, because the members of a forum are what it is made up of.

I really enjoy the forum as well. I have belonged to several seniors forums and used to do Yahoo groups for people over fifty.
I think this is always an interesting forum, and the members get along, and still we are able to voice our own opinions and feelings about things.
You have done a great job setting up this forum, Ken, and to me, it is everything a forum should be. You participate with us in the forum, without controling content, and yet keep it all running smoothly.

Yes, Ken, thanks for making it a great place to visit. I love that we are able to talk about "grown up" stuff, but with a sense of humor and fun. it's like having coffee with a friend. Everyone gets along so well, even though we may not always agree. You have created a welcoming forum. Thanks again for all the hard work!

Oooh, a thank you thread, how did I miss this? Yes, Ken, thank you for creating this forum. I appreciate the level of maturity, with just the right touch of humor. It's a breath of fresh air, and I always enjoy the time I spend here.

I agree. I have been looking for a decent forum to post on for a while now. They always seem to have no activity, or lots of activity from kids my daughter's age and younger. So, a HUGE thank you. I think I rather like it here ;)

Without trying to sound like an old fogey, it's nice to have somewhere to have a civilised conversation these days. Too many forums (or fora for those that prefer Latin) seem to degenerate into petty points-scoring and mudslinging.

Ken, seriously, this place is a Haven for most (if not all) of us. It is a place where we can come, relax and know we are not going to get chomped to bits by some hateful person ( you dodged a bullet on that last one) like many forums seem to attract.
Even though we are from all different parts of the world, different customs, different faiths, different ideas; we all accept each other as a welcome addition to the forum and let each person say his piece.

Thank you again for providing such a wonderful place to spend a pleasant part of our daily life in !

Edit to add: sorry about the typo ! I still was "chomped up" from the last place I visited, and typing was not so good.

I'm sorry, but "pleasant" has two a's in it. That will never do. ;)

I agree this is the best forum I have come across and seems to be getting better every day, the mix of members is so good the topics varied and not the animosity I have come across on other forums, long may it continue and prosper, so thank you Ken and all who contribute so much here.

I love coming here. Good people, good conversations, good humor, good music, good visuals, good parties, good recipes, good coffee, good tolerance level and respect shown for all cultures, races, religions, and opinions, around the world, and I learn something new of interest each time I come here. Thank you.

I know I spend too much time here, but all my friends are here. This places keeps me from staring at the walls. If this place wasn't here, I'd have to learn doggie talk, as Izzy is my only companion. He has gotten good at closing my iPad, which is in a keyboard case.
