Although allergy problems are worse in the Spring for alot of us...the world is so much prettier when everything is blooming. :)

Babs.. not quite sure where you live, but we up here are still in full winter with temperatures in the -25c mark and tons of more snow to come..
I admit it looks lovely, but till we get to that point, it will be the middle of June..

I am in an area known as "The Banana Belt Of Canada" and have noticed a few of my perennials popping up. The migrating birds are also returning so hopefully spring is on the way.

I live in Louisiana @Steve North and everything is pretty much blooming right now. The knock out roses are blooming like crazy in my daughter's back yard and in our small rose bush bed and our yard is filled with weed flowers which are such a bright yellow that I think they are lovely.:)

Spring has sprung here as well. Actually, we have found this out since moving here in 2009, Spring is pretty "short-lived" compared to other areas. We will be getting warmer and warmer. Seeing more and more people wearing shorts. got mine on right now. Will be getting our boat ready to hit the water. Finally got our A/C fixed in our vehicle. Getting ready to buy 1-day tickets to a waterpark. Been to this waterpark before and loved it. Don't go on any high slide/tube rides. One ride we do go on, we float down a "rapids" type water in a 1-person tube and the other is fast-moving water and a person wears a waterski life vest. We also relax under a big beach umbrella and go in the Tide Pool and the children's water area. Most likely, this will be our last time going to a waterpark. We will have a Water Camera with us, so we can get some photos.

Time Change this Sunday AM and we are both glad of it. More daylight.........YES!:D Have to enjoy this while we can, because in a year or so, when we move, the weather pattern will be totally different than here, but that's ok.

We don't have much of a spring here either, there are people in shorts already here too. It's different climate than Florida, more desert like in the summer which lasts too long.

I don't think there is really much of a Spring anywhere...nor much of a Fall either. Yet those are my two favorite seasons of each year and if I could change things those would be the only two seasons we would have each year. :)

Like I tell most people that think this way, "I can tell you're not a boater". Boaters like warm-to-hot weather for waterskiing, tubing or just cruising on the water.

Well @Cody Fousnaugh it's a good thing I'm not in charge of the seasons then...because if I was I guess you wouldn't need your boat!:p

These are the beautiful "weed" flowers that are filling the ditches along the road back to our home. I love seeing them when I run my errands. :)

We started out this year with an early warm spelll, which just seemed to take us into spring, and the flowering trees were in bloom everywhere. Then, at the beginning of March, we reverted back to cold again, and even had threats of snow. We didn't get any; but we did have weather down into the 20's, and it frosted some of the crape myrtles that were just starting to bud out, ours included.
We are supposed to go back into normal spring weather this week and should be into the 60-70 range this weekend. Yesterday, I planted tulips. When we went to Walmart, they had the little tulip pots for $1 each, and they have 2 bulbs in each one. They had been in the little pots way too long and were tall and stringy, but had blossoms, so we could see what color they bloomed. I separated them and planted the bulbs along the front of the yard by the road, which is where the Jerusalem artichokes come up in the summer; but by the time they come up, the tulips will be done blooming.
I plan on going back to Walmart this weekend to see if they have more of the tulips on sale.

It's Spring today wether it's in the air or not. :).

It is here...I also have a spring in my step, for some reason after my Bronchitis I'm feeling extra energetic and good, can't really pinpoint why either....just hope it lasts.

First day of Spring and my grandson called me outside as he was leaving to catch his school bus to look at the sky. It's purple!' he shouted. 'I never seen it look like this before! What does it mean?' As I looked it was red. I told him that it's getting ready to storm.

Still gazing at the sky I noticed a rainbow and then saw a flash of lightening and it started to rain accompanied by thunder and the rainbow vanished before I could get a picture of it.

I got a bunch more tulips at Walmart and today I have been outside and planting tulips. Hopefully, they will all come up again next spring and we will have a pretty yard with flowers. Although I intend to get some bedding plants to set out for the summer, I really want to focus on more of the perennials this year, and that way we will have flowers and bushes that come back each year all on their own.
I am really getting my steps in, and my body knows that I have been out there working and it is grumbling at me about that ! I go out and work a while, and then come in and relax a bit and then back out to work in the yard a little more.
I have been rototilling in the little flower beds in the front yard, and even though it is only a small electric cultivator, my arm muscles know they have been doing something that they are out of shape for doing this spring.

Yesterday I wish I would have had my camera handy to take a picture of all the knock out roses in bloom around my middle daughter's pool. It was at least 80 degrees yesterday but the pool water was still a little chilly to be enjoying swimming in it...although quite a few of the grandkids were "soaking" their feet in the pool...and a few of the grown up's too. :) Spring definitely is in full bloom in my part of Louisiana and it's so lovely to see and smell the freshness of Spring all around us.

@Yvonne Smith I remember every Spring tulips of every color would be in bloom in front of the old Lady of Lourdes Hospital. It was a beautiful part of my home town and I'm sorry the new Lady of Lourdes didn't plant the tulips at their new location.

Well it is spring, but for only a wee bit of time here in Southern Texas. We were in the mid 80's today! Something tells me my time to batten down the hatches, and rev up the a/c, will be here before my normal time in May. :( Woe is me ... :p :D

Maybe @Steve North or @Ken Anderson can send you down some snow , Ina ?
Steve was just saying it would be May before his snow is gone for the summer, and you could be the only person in Houston who can wallow around and make snow angels......
You can trade them some of that 80+ sunshine, and everyone will be happier.

This morning, I am in and out as I rototill along the sides of the driveway. I want to start some irises growing along the side because they are so easy to plant and do not have to be planted very deep. I am using the Little Green Machine to loosen up the dirt so I can plant the irises there. My arms and back are still grumbling at me about holding the tiller, so I work a little while and then come inside and take a break for a while.
The mint plants are coming up and looking good, so I picked a few leaves and made some fresh green tea with mint in it to drink while I am taking my break.
The next step is probably to harvest some iris starts to plant along the driveway. They are so easy to take care of and so beautiful when they are blooming. This year, I want to order some with different colors; but they are expensive to buy. Once you get them, they last forever and spread, so overall, it is worth getting them. Right now, I just have the common ones of light blue, and a few yellow and white ones.
