One of my favorite Thailand holidays is almost here! It is Song Kran, or the Thai New Year's aka The Water Festival. Traditionally it is a time when families get together and wash each others hands and apply powder on each other face to get rid of any bad and blessing each other for the new year. There is a lot more than what I am describing, but that is the basic idea. The festival last from 3 - 5 days or more and is during mid April.

In the major cities, and even some villages, we foreigners have added a more fun side of the holiday and people either hate it or love it. I love it! It is the non stop splashing of water and power on everybody who has nerve enough to join in. Even some of the local police join in on the fun.

I lost many pictures I had taken in the past, but this one is my favorites that is left. It is a young boy by my home in Issan who hides in the water bucket waiting for his friends to come by so he can splash them.

This year, I will be out again with my camera and will share more pictures!
