    http://bluelivesmatter.blue/two-kalamazoo-teenagers-killed/

    Looks like police get blamed for everything even if they didn't do it. This world is getting scarier and scarier.

    Kalamazoo, MI – Two teenagers were shot dead on Monday night in Kalamazoo, and the police responded to the reports of the shooting. When officers arrived, they attempted to render aid. Word quickly spread about the shooting, with people accusing the police of shooting the teens.

    This has gotten so bad that the news media is specifically having to tell people that reports that officers were involved are false.

    I hear you Chrissy. It is scarey, so scarey, I want to find a place to hide, which I'm pretty sure there isn't one.

    It will be real nice when the police don't respond to calls for help and I don't blame them. Who in their right mind wants to be a policeman?

    All the people that are protesting in these BLM demonstrations that only do it cause it's cool...hope when they need a policeman , none show.

    In my opinion all this that has been going on doesn't help, it hurts. With police being shot, it just makes them more trigger happy....I would be. Human nature.

    Yes, there are some racist and bad cops but most arent, but they will be on edge with all the stuff going on and more apt to use their gun then before.

    Shooting cops and blocking major highways is not the answer. The answer is within the dept to fire these type of cops and have sensitivity training etc.

    Ditto Chrissy,

    I wouldn't want to be in law-enforcement when a person running for president of the US can't even be arrested. The rest of the criminal activity is going to increase because it seems to be "ok" in America to break the law. Oh, and lie, lying is a "staple" in some people's lives now, just lie, everyone else is.

    Yes. It's funny how before some people on other forums who were for Bernie slammed Hillary, now they all love her.

    Gives me a good laugh.

    This, in part, is what their local new said:
    "Social media chatter among some area teens who may know one or both of the subjects incorrectly indicated that the shootings may have been police-involved"

    Apparently, possibly, some teens that don't like cops, reported this on social media, and the Chief made it clear in a public statement that no officers were involved in this shooting.

    What I'm wondering is, what new police recruits, going thru the academy, think of what's going on today. There are still men and women filling out applications to be an officer, getting accepted into the academy and graduating. Before they even fill out the application, they have to know what they are getting into.

    I sure wouldn't want to be an officer in today's world. They aren't respected, they're shot at, spit at, etc.

    Pretty sure the pay isn't that great either.

    @Chrissy Page

    U. S. Supreme Court ruled long ago, and I'll quote the statement as best as I can recall it:

    No Police Agency or individual Police Officer in the United States of America has a legal obligation to protect any individual U.S. Citizen".

    When I heard about it, I was disgusted beyond belief. Their intent was to uses such a ruling to stave off litigation.

    But they do, many times and lose their own lives some times.

    It doesn't matter to me what that ruling says. It's a job, why should they be obligated?

    Especially when people spit at them and call them names etc. I wouldn't save your life either then...fend for yourself.

    You think because you have a gun you're invincible? Think again...you lose against a gang of 3 with guns.

    I think you misunderstand my original point, Chrissy.

    If police have no obligation to protect citizens, what IS their purpose?

    The same thing they do with or without the obligation, protect and serve.
    They wouldn't
    become police if they didn't want to do that.

    Most anyway.

    @Chrissy Page

    So, you feel then that the protect and serve credo is a moral one rather than a forced obligation, one dependent on each officer's degree of commitment?

    @Chrissy Page

    One last question, Chrissy. Given circumstances such as you mentioned, 3 armed thugs suddenly confront me somewhere.....what could the Police do for me at that moment?
