Since I'm stuck inside, it's the time I usually do housecleaning. In particular, the laundry. The reason I know that, is I worry about the extra water going into the drain while the soil outside is already soaked (don't ask).
If it's not torrential rain and a thunderstorm, it has no effect on what I'm doing. In summer I wouldn't try to do gardening, though. Yet on a rainy day throughout the year I don't change my schedule. I need to walk the dog anyway, enjoy jogging in the rain, do my shopping, keep my appointments, etc. - all in the rain.
In the winter, a good workout and the steam room. In the summer, sit out on the porch and hope it’s a thunder storm. Yeah, I’m an adrenaline junky......
I agree, @Bobby Cole , a summer thunderstorm is truly awe inspiring. On a long, dark, dreary, rainy winter day, I light some lovely scented candles and turn on lots of lights to chase away the darkness. And wait for spring.
I like cloudy skies, spring rains, thunder storms. On the other hand my roommate like sunny skies, warm beaches, and sunscreen. Living together we are enriched in our own environment. I read. The forecast tonight is rain and heavy rain tomorrow. Walking out in my back yard is like walking on sponges. Our yard is soaked, the water has no where to go except to rise, forming two small lakes in the back yard. I will be content with the rain, my roommate stressed, But she will work through her discontent doing laundry and knowing soon the warm sun will rise and warm her spirit.
