What are the pros and cons of getting older?

I will throw in arthritic knees...as a con.

Off the top of my head, I can't think of any pros, except retirement. So far, the only con I can think of ... Can't run as fast as I used to, in fact, can only run downhill. lol

Will keep thinking. Maybe I can come up with some deeper ones.

Many cons, needless to say, but two giant pros: retirement and independence (at least for a while) - second to none.

pros are retirement of course... cons are pain mainly and lack of energy and motivation some days due to different ailments to do what I've always been used to doing... I look young but inside, my body is old...

The biggest pro is getting a monthly allowance from my rich uncle.

The biggest con is losing so many people that I care about.

In the grand scheme of things, one would think that as we grow older, we gain knowledge and have the wisdom to use it.
Of course, the problem with that is if we wish to live longer to use that wisdom, we have to grow even older.

    And yet another oxymoron:
Everyone wants to live longer, but who wants to grow older whilst doing it?

    Pro--still alive
    Con--not for too much longer

Since my grandson, I've gotten greedy about being alive, just to watch his life & what he does with it and to be here for it, to be an active participant.

There are more cons than pros...

Cons are pain, health issues, grey hair, wrinkles, knowing that no how much I exercise my upper arms will still probably sag.

Pros are I can do what I want when I want...problem is I can't do a lot of things, lol

Pros: retirement and being able to say in a sad manner, "oh, I'd love to, but you know........" and look down at your knees. Then you're free to go rollerblading.

Cons: what happens after you go rollerblading.....

Yes, something that unquestionably would appeal to an old reprobate would of course be liked!

I've said a number of times I didn't begain enjoying life until I retired. I have enjoyed the independence retirement has allowed me. And even though I have emphysema and have had some rough times with it, that has been offset by the good times, the ability to help my kids which I couldn't do much of when they were younger. And worried so about mistakes made, bad judgement I had exercised, As long as my health is reasonably good I want to keep on keeping on, and I consider every day a plus, a pro. There are a few cons like a slipping memory, a few aching joints. I don't consider a face full of wrinkles or grey hair a con. I rather think of them both as pros. Perhaps that's a difference between a male and female species. Don't know. Maybe all this rolls out of me as it does because, at the moment, at least, life is good. Might I asked here, what is the subject matter?

Can't think of any cons but lots of pros, being able to do what you like all day every day, getting a weekly income
without having to go to work, free travel , such a shame it can't last forever.
