    I'm having a strange problem with gmail.com.
Within the last few days I have received very important email via gmail. They have disappeared. I know for certain that I didn't delete them.
Does anyone have any thoughts on how I can retrieve them
    Thank you

Um, no never had that problem. I asked AI for answers to your problem and came up with too many answers as to how and why that could happen, Try yourself and see what happens

Did you check your trash folder? If they are there you can restore (move them) back to the inbox.

That is what I was thinking, too. Also some email systems have something called “archive” and email can be moved there (on purpose or by accident), and then you have to look in the archived folder to find them again.

Yes, I have checked all places where the emails might have gone.

You could do a Search for it. As you type the Sender (or subject) in the search function, it should auto-suggest from emails in your account.

Is this on Windows, android, iphone Richard? I use both android and Win 10, and Win 11. I haven't had this issue but I might be able to add something on your thread, but maybe not ;) On my gmail I have whats called "All Mail" which literally saves every email, unless I've purposely deleted it, denise

I agree with @John Brunner. If you recall who was the sender.

Richard has a Chromebook, so it is totally different from either windows or Apple operating system, but his mail still should not disappear unless it accidentally got moved into a wrong folder.

Yup. Which is why doing a Search is the best way to find it, especially if there are a large number of folders it may have accidentally gotten drug to. I use a TouchPad and the downside is that accidentally grabbing/dragging something with it is real easy to do. More than once I've been browsing files and "lost" a folder because I unintentionally Dragged & Dropped it. It's a pain in the butt.
