All but 12 of our Presidents served in the Military, some advancing to General. (Ike advanced 5-star) I feel that time served in the Military should be a requisite for anyone running for President. I could have been an Officer, as I qualified for OCS, but didn't want to extend my service time. Hal, US 56332718, honorably discharged as SP/4.
I've often thought the same exact thing. Not a very well received idea in this day and age. Even if they just put in the minimum hitch, it gives a different perspective to life in general. JMHO
I certainly don't think that military service should be a detriment to public office but I appreciate that we have a civilian government.
