It's so funny, I'm the one that keeps on eye on this stuff for my kids and 2 times that I've emailed my son, he said,
"Thanks, I was just going to use that in dinner tonight" today he was going to make a beet salad with pistachios.

Last time he was making something with cucumbers for his wife's women's club meeting! Yikes that would have been bad.:)

He is the cook....what a great husband he is, I'm so proud of him. Comes home from work and makes food for a bunch of women, plus his own 3 boys. :)

Wow Chrissy..What an amazing son you raised. That beet salad sounds interesting. I love, love pistachios and sprinkle them here and there.

Thanks, I'm very proud of the husband and father that he is. My son in law could and should take lessons. :)

That's a long list. Right now I can't even think of what my dog eats....need my coffee first.

I would hope that some of the older recalls have been corrected or eliminated from stores.

At first, I had heard that the only pistachios affected were Trader Joe's, but it appears the list has expanded. I was wanting to buy some, because I found a nice recipe I wanted to make for St. Patrick's Day, but I guess I'll hold off for now. Here's the full list: http://www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/ucm489959.htm

Oops, I just created a thread over on In The News about this. My link is different, so I'll leave it up and let Ken decide. Hopefully between the two thread, everyone will see. I was ready to buy some next time I went shopping, since I have a recipe to make that calls for them, but even if the stores have stocked new ones, I think I'll hold off for a bit. My health's not the greatest, and I don't need to be taking any chances.

When a food gets recalled, even though it's usually limited to a few stores or states at first, I've noticed later it's always expanded to more states and stores. So I avoid that product for awhile no matter where I see it.

I do the same, @Chrissy Page, and I always make sure to tell my mom about it, because although she watches the news on television, she doesn't get as much information as I do, since she doesn't use the internet. It sure seems there are more recalls these days. I'm not sure that's because we're better informed, I think it's more that there is less care and concern about the products, and about our safety, since companies are huge nowadays, rather than smaller and more connected to the communities they serve.

I always email my kids, they have busy lives and might miss the recall news.

Thanks @Admin @Ken Anderson I realized after I created mine that Chrissy had started this one. As long as everyone gets the news and doesn't get sick, I'm happy.
