    Paris under attack - multiple terrorist attacks on Friday night

    Sixty people are dead and 100 have been taken hostage in a night of terrorism.

    Paris terror attacks: 60 people feared dead, 100 taken hostage

    * At least 60 people dead - AFP
    * 100 Hostages taken at concert hall, 15 of those have been killed
    * Multiple attacks in Paris

    * President Francois Hollande evacuated from Stade de France
    * Situation still ongoing

    100 people were taken hostage in a city concert hall in a related incident.
    The French capital came under seige for the second time this year as authorities grappled with attacks aimed at killing and maiming innocent civilians. The first incident is believed to have occurred in a Cambodian restaurant, Cambodge, in the 10th Arrondissement of the city shortly before 9pm Irish time, an area packed with many bars and restaurants. A gunman reportedly took aim at diners inside and outside the restaurant.

    Some 15 people have been killed at a Paris concert hall, while three people have been killed near Stade de France, police have said, according to French news agency AFP. Three explosions are reported to have been heard near Stade de France, about five or six miles from the city centre, where France were playing Germany in an international soccer friendly. Police confirmed there had been shootings and explosions at the stadium, but not the number of casualties.

    Around 100 people are reported to have been taken hostage at the Paris Bataclan concert hall, where 15 people have been killed, according to police.

    I'm afraid that we can look forward to more of the same here in the United States, thanks to the hundreds of thousands of male refugees, of military age, that our president is inviting here. That's what happens when you elect someone who isn't on our side to run the country - he invites the enemy over.

    I had the same thoughts Ken! Then when something like this happens, the leaders seem so clueless as to how this happened! They become all "patriotic," and determined to do something drastic. How about not letting these cutthroats into the country? That's a novel idea, isn't it? BTW, according to Fox news, there were several related attacks which brings the death toll up to 150 and counting!

    As of the last update, there are already 160 casualties in Paris on the explosions and gunfires from nowhere. And as we may all have suspected, the ISIS had claimed responsibility for the murderous act. Worse, the ISIS admirers in France are jubilating as if they had defeated an enemy in the war zone. The collateral damage is unacceptable, those innocent people who died because of the overzealous religiosity of the fanatics. I don't know what would happen if that kind of attack would spread far and wide as to reach the US and other countries outside of Europe and America. Not the Philippines, please, because there are lots of Muslims down south of the country.

    Ruby, I appreciate your, "I am French" sentiment, but I don't think I can say that. I'm finding myself having less and less in common with the French these days. I do think this is an absolute tragedy, and I hope all civilized nations, including the U.S., will see it as (yet another) wake-up call.

    As we are doing, France invited the Muslims in. They allowed them to set up their own Muslim zones, where Sharia Law was in effect. Sad as it is, they are reaping the consequences of their actions, as we will in this country.

    Yes, Paris is a popular tourist attraction plus the band that was performing was American. I think they got out though.

    I read about that elsewhere, and apparently (just like ALWAYS), they found the guy's PASSPORT just laying there on the ground near the attacks. So, refugees now carry passports ?
    Why do these people always seem to lose their passports so conveniently (for the police) right at the scene of the crimes ?
    The news reports are all over the place, too.
    At first the reports said there were two guys with shotguns at the concert, then they reported that the police broke in and killed all three of the shooters. Yet another report said that all four of the shooters blew themselves up with their suicide vests.
    Plus, one of the first news reports said they had arrested one of them, and the first thing he said was that he was from ISIS.
    I am hoping that we are not seeing what will happen here in the next year .

    I am not entirely certain that the Paris attacks weren't a false flag event intended to suck us all into a world war, ignoring everything else that's going on.

    Anything is possible, Ken but I would need to see lots of proof for that scenario...also, Obama is not likely to go to war unless we were attacked directly by some country.

    I dont want to even think war, I have 5 grandsons and the thought of a draft scares me.

    It is so sad to see this going on. My prayers go out to the families that have been affected by this horrible cowardly act.

    This article shows how disconnected President Obama is, from what is happening in the world. He claimed Isis is not gaining strength, we have contained them. He said this in an interview on Good Morning America the day before the terrorist attacks in Paris. My prayers go out to the families.

    Obama: ISIS Is Not Getting ‘Stronger,’ We Have ‘Contained’ Them
    by Jeff Poor13 Nov 201569,600

    Friday on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” President Barack Obama seemingly downplayed the threat of ISIS in an interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos that aired on Friday’s broadcast of “Good Morning America.”

    Stephanopoulos asked Obama if ISIS was gaining in strength, to which Obama denied they were.

    “I don’t think they’re gaining strength,” Obama responded. “What is true is that from the start, our goal has been first to contain and we have contained them. They have not gained ground in Iraq, and in Syria they’ll come in, they’ll leave, but you don’t see this systemic march by ISIL across the terrain.”

    “What we have not yet been able to do is to completely decapitate their command and control structures,” he admitted. “We’ve made some progress in trying to reduce the flow of foreign fighters and part our goal has to be to recruit more effective Sunni partners in Iraq to really go on offense rather than simply engage in defense.”

    Sadly, ISIS is getting stronger and stronger and along with legit refugees many have gotten into countries and are probably just waiting to strike.
