Our motto in life is to enjoy life although we have to observe the limitations. Like in food, eat in moderation although sometimes we indulge in an eating spree particularly in buffet tables. Another enjoyment for us is traveling. And most of our travels are overnight trips. Next week we have a non-traditional holiday because of the APEC meeting - Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation to be attended by President Obama together with 20 other nation leaders. And to exploit that oppotunity, we had booked an overnight stay in Balai Isabel, a hotel by the Taal Lake where the Taal volcano is situated. This will be our first time so I cannot say anything yet.
Looks like a beautiful place Corie going by pictures on the internet, look forward to hearing about your trip. How long will the journey take?
The 2-hour trip turned to 3 hours not because of traffic, there was none. We were stopping from time to time to take pictures because of the beautiful scenery. The last 10 kilometers of the trip consisted of slight zigzag roads but very steep that while going down, we were already thinking of how our car would manage to ascend on our way home. The roads are pretty new, clean and even the land on the roadsides where grasses are trimmed and trees looking good. The resort is by the lake which has a good view of the Taal volcano. There were 3 swimming pools and since the resort was not fully packed (only Metro Manila is on a holiday, the rest of the country is not) so the pools are not crowded. There is a sandy shore where we walked by the lake although swimming in the lake water is unheard of because it is not seawater. We had a great time and maybe next time we will be spending 2 nights in that resort. Me and my sister with the kids. That's actually not the volcano in the picture, just a small mountain with a crater-like top that is actually a pocket forest.
