http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-40272984 A huge fire has engulfed a tower block in west London, having broken out in the early hours of Wednesday, leaving several people dead. Six dead after tower block fire
Hearing the accounts of witnesses, it was truly horrific with people at their windows calling for help Devastating
I couldn't believe seeing this last night. I heard something about the sprinklers, that they should have stopped or contained the fire so they didn't know what happened. Terrifying to watch. Those poor people living there. I've also had it with the news. CNN was not even mentioning this. And while I don't like Fox, they at least had a split screen with the fire and were mentioning it while talking about DC politics.
I was reading about this on my Facebook news first thing this morning, and the pictures are horrible and heartbreaking. The first thing that I thought of was hoping this was not the apartments where Patsy lives; but then I saw that she had been online this morning, and that was reassuring (but I wrote to her anyway). I think that the death toll will rise in this tragedy as they are able to search through the rubble. The fire looked like it had just exploded though the whole building, and I think that people on the higher floors probably had no way of escape. I would guess that what they are reporting now is ones that were on the lowest floors, plus the ones who jumped out of the windows to escape burning to death.
