    I'm so excited having bought new ones yesterday from Home Depot.

    The stove has a convection oven; this is new to me. Since I cannot have gas, of course the stove is another glass top, electric.

    The fridge is just a basic, single door unit; no automatic ice or drinking water but it's Energy Star finally and the estimated cost to run each year is only $48.00!

    The color is called Slate and they have some stainless steel trim.
    Delivery is next Tuesday.

    Any tips for cooking with convection?

    Wow, congratulations, @Ruby Begonia! I hope you post some pictures, I would love to see the color of them. I bought my washer/dryer and refrigerator when I moved in here, so they're about 7 years old, but are still working, thankfully. The stove was here, probably from when the house was built (or before), and is showing its age. New appliances can be very exciting, I am looking forward to hearing about how you like the convection feature, after you've had it for a bit and are able to test it out.

    GE Adora. It's a line made for Home Depot by General Electric.

    Cool beans! :)

    I didn't even know there was such a thing. All my appliances are boring white.

    I would do my dishwasher. My stove front is glass and my fridge too big. I'd have to see all the choices to decide what would go well in my kitchen which is open.

    Edit: think they only have them for dishwashers anyway.

    The rooster would go the best in my kitchen since I have about 3 big ones and even hanging plates with roosters.

    Yes. I did see they have them for fridges also. I'd only cover my fridge if it was a color I couldn't stand anymore.

    Happy for you Ruby .. the appliances sound so nice. Pretty color.

    The magnetic covers are fun! ... During the winter holidays, I have a snowman cover that has a night time glow that I use on my black dishwasher. The rest of the year I've got a Debra Jordan Bryan cover with two dogs on it ..
    a small white spotted one and a large yellow/brown one ... close enough! :D .. cute artwork for the kitchen.

    You can have fun with those!

    I have one of those chef guys, a small statue next to my stove. He's a tall, skinny one, with checkered pants. Love them!

    Congratulations Ruby on your new appliances which when new it's great!!! Convection ovens are faster to cook with, so timing is essential for your foods to be prepared much quicker. Here are some tips I found about convection oven cooking:

    * http://www.finecooking.com/articles/convection-ovens.aspx?pg=0

    * http://www.gourmetsleuth.com/articles/detail/convection-cooking-adjustments
    This is more direct in finding times and temps for what you cook or bake.

    Good luck. I like to get those new air fry kind of cooking. My Mom says no to it though. We love fried foods, which is not so good unless you get an air cooking equipment. Good luck with your new convection oven!
